Chapter 14

I wake up by Jonah on my bed shaking me. "Sami, wake up already!" He yelled. I laughed at him. "What is it?" I ask tiredly. "You said we would leave when the sun is up, and it's just now up!" He said sounding annoyed. I got up and laughed at his cuteness. I picked him up and walked towards the door way of my room. "Go upstairs and eat some berries I picked last night." I said pushing him out of my room and shutting the door. I got ready and grabbed my bag that I had already packed and went upstairs. Jonah was staring out the window. I walked over to him and poked his sides making him giggle. "Are you ready?" I asked him. He nodded his head rapidly. I giggled. "Maybe on the way we can stop and see Marco!" He yelled. My smile disappeared. "I don't know, we'll see." I told him. He looked at me for a moment. "What?" I asked him. He shrugged his shoulders and got up and walked towards the door. "Got everything?" I ask before opening up the door. He nods his head. We walk outside. The air smelled fresh, and because it was cold, you could see our breath. We walked deep into the woods. Then I smelt a familiar sent. Smoke. I looked up and saw smoke that came from Marcos camp site. Jonah must have saw what I was looking at. "Let's go see Marco!" He said while running towards the smoke. "Wait! They might not want to see us!" I yelled running after him. It was too late. As I got up close to the campsite, I saw Marco and Jonah talking. I hid behind a tree watching them. Marco asked a question and Jonah looked over at me and pointed to me. I quickly turned around and started walking away. I didn't want to talk to Marco. He was rude yesterday and left me. He probably hated my guts. But I didn't care. I kept walking until I heard Jonah call my name. "Sami! Wait up!" He yelled while running up to me. I stopped in my tracks and turned around. Jonah was out of breath, he was really out of shape. "We have to wait for Marco." He told me while in between breathes. "What why?" I asked curiously. "I invited him to come with us!" He said happily. I just blankly stared at him. "You what?" I asked like I didn't hear anything the first time. "Hey guys, wait up!" You heard Marco yell. Jonah turned around and waved at him. "We are over here Marco!" He yelled. I watched as he ran to us. I turned around and mumbled under my breath. "This can not be happening."
