An Origins Story -Snow's Perspective

Chapter Ten- Humans

I saw that Ant looked distressed and decided to ask "Are you alright, Ant?"
Ant sat up, rubbing her hands through her hair.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Ant replies. "We have to get out of here."

I was kind of confused by this statement and asked  'why' we should be leaving.

"I had a bad feeling about this place as soon as I woke up. Plus, look outside."
I stood up, walking over to the window. The darkness has seemingly returned, as a cold wind blows through the trees. There was a bit of frost forming on the bottom of the window.

I say "Hm. Where do you plan on going? "

Ant thought for a moment, before replying.
"Anywhere. I don't really care."

"One second" I said disappearing into the other room I had to get a few things before we head out. I scavenged around for a few things. I quickly put on a belt and a leather jacket and walked out. The belt held potions and a spell book. I was also wearing a purple crystal neckless which was glowing.
"Let's go."
She walked over to me, looking at me. She started to observe my clothing. I smiled a bit then went back to having a straight face.
"You're coming with me."

"Sure. I was planning to do it at some point." Ant replies

I lead her out of the cabin, after putting a note down for my siblings that I had left, and headed towards the forests tree line, and carried on strolling till we were walking through the dark part of the forest.

I looked down on Ant to check on her. She has tiny legs after all. I see she is getting tired, so I transform into a horse and said "get on"

I bent down for Ant. Ant was too tired to do anything, but plopped down on my back, before drifting off peacefully. I decided to walk slowly so Ant could continue sleeping. We kept at a gentle trot. After about three hours of walking the two of us are riding through the light side of the forest the treeline was not to far away.
"Where are you taking me?" Ant said

She startled me a bit as I didn't know she had woken up.

I replied as I didn't want to seem like I was going to kill her "I don't know, but we will find somewhere to explore"

I looked over my shoulder at Ant, and she nodded. I decided it would be safer to take a path through the trees. The two of us eventually reached a clearing, in the middle of which is a strange...town?

A human town to be exact, if Ant is spotted, she'll be killed or trapped here like last time she was talking in her sleep on the way here how she was captured in a human village.
I lead her through a gap in the wall, and into a street. The people of the village were going on with their everyday lives. Shopping at the street market it all seemed quite interesting. I've been here before but something felt off.

"We should go back." Ant said clearly afraid

Without thinking I said "No"

"No?"

"This is an interesting place. I want to see more."

I smiled reassuringly at Ant so she would agree to go down there.

Ant hid inside of the saddle bag to my left.
I nodded before going deeper inside, and Ant nodded back at me. I took Ant through the streets, which are much more populated than you'd expect.

Humans shrieked with terror as I galloped through town, and someone grabs the reins after quite some time and they  brought me to the stable and locked me in. There were whips on the wall to my right.

'I hope this isn't how they train the other horses here' I thought

The humans untacked me with Ant still in the saddle bag, but she flapped her wings and escaped while they were distracted.
"Bat, stop!" a young man with a sword demands, but I kicked the door and knocked him aside and galloped out of the town.
The young man sprinted after me after I  had just got to a field.  Some of the humans got their horses and started to leave the town for the fields, and I galloped through the long grass. towards a small forest on the other side of the town.
Ant flies above me, staying high enough to not get caught by humans. "The forest is too dangerous! The... The Shadows are there!"
I snort at Ant, and takes a detour, galloping through the fields.

I really wanted to go into the forest but Ant says its too dangerous. Maybe i'll go in there later.
