JOSIAH'S POV
The rest of the day was uneventful as I finished school and road the bus home with my sisters.
As soon as I step through the door mom calls out, "hey Josiah come here a minute." "Okay mom," I say as I toss my backpack on the floor with a thud. "What do you want?" "Did you notice we have new neighbors moving in across the street?" Inquired mom as she pulls a casserole out of the oven.

"No I didn't pay much attention to it,"I said while staring at the table. "Mom, are we having company over for supper?" "Yes," says mom. "I went over to visit our neighbors today to see if they need any help moving in; I also invited them over for supper." "So you better get yourself changed out of those school clothes and put something more decent on." "Okay mom," I say heading toward my bedroom.

"What's wrong with the clothes I have on now?" I think to myself as I pull out a pair of dark Levi jeans. Mom never usually minds what I wear so telling me to change into something more decent was strange for me to hear. Walking to my closet I look around trying to find a shirt to wear. I was just trying to decide between two different shirts when the door bell rang. Deciding on the gray polo collard shirt I throw the other one back in my closet.

On the way down the stairs I hear voices coming from the dining room; I can distinguish my dads low voice, my two sisters whispering and giggling, and my mom talking to some other women.
Walking into the room I see everyone had found there seats. "You're late Josiah," said mother sternly. "Sorry," I mumble as I take the only remaining seat left right next to the new girl that came to class today.

"Now, since everyone is here now let's say grace," says father. After prayer mom says to me, "Josiah, this is Mr. And Mrs. Shuttle and there daughter Amber." "Hi" I say while scooping up some of moms delicious mashed potatoes.

AMBERS POV
A few minutes after I arrived at home from school I headed straight for my bedroom to take a quick cool shower. It was hot here in Florida, unlike New York, Florida was very hot, humid, and sticky; it would take me a while to get used to this kind of weather.
Looking in the mirror I could see I looked a sight. My hair was laying damp to my shoulders and clung to my neck, my face was red, and little droplets of sweat were rolling down my face. "I sure do need that cold shower right now" I think to my self.

While I'm taking my shower I start singing
"Our Song" by Taylor Swift. I love singing, when I lived in New York I was the best singer in my school. Everyone always would ask me to sing for something, so singing in the shower was normal for me. As I was just finishing up I heard a knock on the bathroom door. "Amber, are you almost done in there?" Mom asks through the door. " sorry mom" I yell back, "I guess I lost track of time." "Well hurry up Amber; we have just been invited to dinner with our neighbors across the street and we don't want to be late" replied mom. "Okay, I will be out in about five minutes" I say.

After I'm out of the shower and dressed I think about what I should do with my hair. Should I braid it, straighten it, wear it up, or maybe down. I looked at the clock; only two minutes until we needed to leave that wouldn't give me much time. I decided to comb it out and give it a little bit of a curl.
It didn't take very long to get to our neighbors house; since they lived right across the street from us we just walked to there home.

My mom pressed the door bell. We waited for a minute before the door opened. Hi, you must be the Pattersons" said Mr. Jones, upon opening the door. "That's us" my dad said. "It's so nice meeting nice folks like yourselves; people weren't this friendly where we came from."

As my dad and Mr. Jones were getting to know each other, me and my mom went inside to visit with the ladies.
