A.J.’s POV:
I hate my freaking hair!! I groaned as I tried to make my hair lie straight in the front. I’ve been messing with it for about 30 minutes, but to no avail. It was finally Friday, and I had gotten home from school about an hour ago. Since I entered the door I have been attempting to get ready for my date with Ashton.
All of the sudden my phone started ringing and I gave up my attempts to fix my stupid hair to go and answer it. It was Sydnie. Of course I had told her about Ashton asking me out and she was happy for me. She wanted to come over after school to help me get ready, but someone had to take a sick day at work so she had to pick up their shift at the Pink Flamingo.
I answered and sighed into the phone, “Hey Syd.”
“What’s that voice? Are you not flipping out right now?” I could hear her laughing on the end of the line.
“Yes, but I think I’m going to chop my hair off.” I groaned into the phone and collapsed on my bed.
“Well, he might be into that. I say go for it, and if he hates it I know a good wig shop we can go to after. We can make you look like Lady Gaga or some shit.” She laughed.
“Gee thanks. I’ll keep that in mind.” I laughed.
“So are you excited?” she pushed.
I giggled a little before I answered, “Yes! Very excited” There really was no denying that I was nervous, but I’ve been waiting for this all week.
“So what did you decide to wear?” she asked.
“Just my jeans, my converse, and a dark blue sleeveless top. I mean, we’re going to pub. I don’t want to look too fancy.” I bit my lip nervously and got up to look at myself in the mirror. I was already dressed, but I was beginning to second guess my choice of outfit. “You don’t think I should dress it up a little more do you?”
“No way girl. You’re talking about that blue top you sent me a picture of right? I think it was way cute, especially with the low back and silky material. That’s fancy enough for dinner and a show at a pub” she said.
“Yeah, but should I change my shoes or something? I don’t really want to wear a skirt; I wear one of those almost every day.” I groaned.
“No, I don’t blame you there. Besides, this is your first date. You want to be comfortable,” she assured me.
“Okay, you’re right. I’ll keep the converse. No skirt.” I turned and looked at my bum in the mirror. I’ve never really thought about myself having a nice ass, but if Ashton was serious about checking mine out occasionally, then I wanted to impress him. I purposely wore my tighter jeans that had little silver buttons on the pockets.
“Just be yourself tonight. Relax, have fun, and be safe. Speaking of safe, do you have protection? Ashton strikes me as the type to carry his own, but you never can be too careful” she added.
