Too Much Studying

Studying for exams made Y/n miserable. She absolutely hated it. It always made her feel worse when she knew her boyfriend was a star student. Draco was good at everything. He never seemed to have trouble with any subject. He was a natural.

"After dinner we can study for a while in the common room okay? We need to pass these exams." Draco told Y/n and she nodded. She honestly had no interest in studying, but she knew Draco wanted to do this. She wished dinner had taken longer. The thought of reading notes and books did not seem pleasing.

As they sat in the common room Y/n sat on the couch with her notes beside her and Draco sat by a table near her, but close enough to still be able to talk to her. He constantly asked her questions about the subject trying to quiz her. Y/n did not know why he was even studying he seemed to know all the notes and criteria just fine.

After an hour and a half of studying Y/n began to feel tired. She didn't want to study anymore. Especially since there was no one in the common room except them. She turned her to face the clock, 12:36 am.

"Draco can we please stop already? I want to cuddle with you before heading to bed." Y/n yawned towards the end, but Draco didn't even bat an eye. "30 more minutes," He told her as he flipped the page of his Transfiguration book. Y/n sighed as she went back to her notes reading them over and over again.

30 minutes finally passed, "It's been 30 minutes can we stop now?" She pleaded, but Draco did not seem to care. All he cared about was his notes, "In a couple minutes."

Those couple minutes turned into an hour. Y/n's eyes felt heavy. She was already laying down on the couch and had stopped studying.

This always happened when they studying together. Draco would get so caught up with studying and sometimes forget to take a break. There was a day when Draco studied so much he stayed up all night. When she came down to the common room Draco's eyes were red and his eye bags were so noticeable. He obviously passed the exam, but his method of studying was not the best. He would practically kill himself studying for hours.

3:27 am the clock read. Draco rubbed his eyes finally closing the many books around the table. He closed his eyes sighing and cracking his neck. "Alright let's sleep now love?" He asked his already sleeping girlfriend. His eyes filled with a bit of sadness. He didn't even realize how fast the time passed.

He watched as her chest rose up and down and how her mouth was opened slightly. She didn't even bother to close her notes and put everything away. He felt horrible.

All she wanted was to take a small break with him, but he was so caught up with studying. It made him feel even worse knowing he didn't even need to study. He was naturally smart at everything, he was just studying because he was nervous.

He always did this when exams came up. He would study for hours and hours sometimes forgetting Y/n was with him too. Draco always wondered why Y/n never left. She absolutely deserved better. All she wanted was to cuddle for a few minutes and she couldn't even get that.

His thoughts were interrupted when Y/n began to shift on the couch. She softly groaned as she stretched opening her eyes, seeing Draco sitting down beside her. "Oh are you done now?" She asked half asleep. He slightly pouted seeing her tired state. "Yeah, yeah c'mon I'll walk you to your room."

Draco didn't even bother to pick up his books and notes. All he cared about was getting Y/n into her bed to get enough sleep. He knew he had to do better, he didn't want to lose her. He was determined to change to make Y/n happy and keep their relationship safe.
