°3rd Person°
It was their third date. Michael and Ashton got ready in their respective homes. Michael had Selena come over to watch Ollie. And she currently helped him get ready for his date with Ashton. "The blue shirt or the black?" He said holding both up to his chest undecided.
"Blue always looked better on you Mikey." Selena offered. She was watching her brother panic over something so small, as to what to wear. She pushed him out of his closet, taking the hangers from his hands. "Put this and this and these on and then do something with your hair."
Selena handed him a pair of ripped up skinny jeans, a band tee, and his vans. He took them from her and she made her and at our of the room to the living room where Oliver was placed on the couch watching Looney Tunes.
Michael got dressed and fixed his now blue hair. He was nervous like he has been for their other dates. He didn't know why, Ashton and him have gotten closer they know the little things that get them annoyed and the little things that play with their heart strings.
Michael made his way out to his son and sister. "Where is he taking you?" Selena asked while staring at the t.v.
"To dinner, it's supposed to be on the roof of some restaurant on second."
"Have fun." Michael went to his door when Ashton texted him telling him he's outside. He walked out to Ashton's car and climbed in. They drove to the restaurant with some small talk here and there.
Ashton parked in the parking lot turned the car off. He turned to Michael and said, "We are going to the top, I made reservations to ensure we'll get a table at the top." As he spoke he fidgeted with his fingers. Michael nodded, grabbing his hands and reassured him that it'll be fine.
They both exit the car and walk hand in hand up to the restaurant. Ashton rubs his thumb against Michael's palm as he said, "Reservation for two." To the attended, nodded and asked for the name. "Irwin." The attendant nodded again and took us to shiny silver doors.
"Go up to the roof and tell the attendant about your reservation." Michael looked at the doors, on the other side of them was his worst nightmare. Elevators.
He was deathly afraid of them. Ever since he was a child. He didn't know why. Maybe it was that the cable could snap at any moment, or the door could possibly not open and he would get stuck in there, or maybe that he simply just doesn't like them. His grip tightened on Ashton's hand.
"Ash?" He croaked. He felt the need to run, to get away from the silver doors. He just didn't know how to bring it up his completely rational fear of elevators. He couldn't even think of them without cringing.
"Yes, Love?" Ashton said turning around to face him. He held his other hand out to push the 'up' button on the elevator.
"C-can we take the stairs?" He stuttered out. Ashton looked at him strangely.
"Darling, it's seven flights of stairs. You really want to do that?" Michael turn to the doors as they opened showing the walls lined with mirrors. Michael decided to get over his fear and go in the tin trap.
"I guess not." He muttered walking in. Ashton followed him pressing 'R' which Michael is guessing means roof. He's probably right.
As soon as the elevator hit the fourth floor it stopped. Stopped moving that is and the lights went out. Michael looked at his date. His worst fear coning true as a red light started to flash. His heart speeding up to help him panic.
"Michael? Are you okay? You look a little pale." Ashton said over the soft beeping staring to ring Michael's ears.
Michael shook his head. "No, I'm not." He wanted to take the stairs, stairs are your friend. They might not be fun to climb but they don't bring you to your death by a cable snapping or locking you in do to door failure
"What's wrong?" Ash asked walking over to grab his hand.
"We are in an elevator that has stopped between the forth and fifth floor! What do you think is wrong!?" He screamed panic finally rising out of him.
"Oh. You don't like elevators do you?" He asked. Michael chuckled at him and his stupidity.
"Why the hell do you think I live on the first floor of my apartment building for? When there are better apartments further up. I hate elevators!"
"I'm so sorry kitten! Why didn't you tell me? We could have taken the stairs. Darling I'm sorry."
"Stop saying sorry and help me!" Ashton was confused he didn't know how to help him from a panic attack, he didn't know what to do. What if he hurt him? 'He would hurt a lot more if I don't go help him now.' Ash thought.
"Okay." Ashton ran beside him gave him a hug and held him. Tight. He didn't let go at all. He stayed there hugging the younger boy whisper sweet nothings in his ear telling him it was going to be fine.
"Is anyone in there?" They heard someone yell from through the doors. Ash pulled his head back, his arms still around the younger boy.
"Yeah." He called, rubbing Michael's back.
"Sit tight we'll get you out soon." Ashton turned to Michael who had calmed down significantly. He kissed Michael's lips softly.
"Take your time. We're fine." He said. And they were. Michael faced his fear, Ashton realized that what he's feeling is way more than a crush and felt something grow. Michael felt it too, in his heart, the same feeling he had towards Max. He just hoped that it wouldn't end the same way, that this whatever this is lasted a long time.
