Vella's POV
" 'Higher Ground High: A Place Where Dreams Are Made Real' Yeah, sure ok..." Said one of my best friends, Angela Gillies.
"Yeah, I really think this school is going to be worse than our old school." Said my other best friend, Katherine Justice.
"Come on guys," I said," It can't be that bad... Hopefully..." I'm Vella.  Me and my two best friends, Katherine Justice, and Angela Gillies, had been everywhere together. Where one was, the others were too. Every vacation, field trip, detention (not like we had a lot of those), we were there. Until one day, that all changed, or so we thought. My dad had got a job as, get this, a janitor, down at Higher Ground High, so he decided "Hey, we'll just pack up our stuff and get a house close to Higher Ground High."  So, I had to pack up, and go tell my friends. All of my friends said they would miss me, hurry back, casual sayings. But not Angela and Katherine. No, they went straight up to their parents, and begged them to move with my family. Since their parents knew how we never left each other, they agreed. We've been looking at the website for a while but now was finally the day we had to see it for ourselves. We were standing outside the school, wondering if we should've done this.
"Well here we go..." Said Katherine.
"Any day now..." Said Angela.
"I guess it's time..." I said.
But right when we were ready to go in, out came three guys.
"Woah," Said Katherine, "Who's the guy in the blue he's cute!"
"Really Katherine? We haven't even stepped foot in the school and you already found your guy?" I said laughing.
"Hey," She said, "You can't say anything I saw you staring at the kid in the yellow."
"Ok, maybe I was but that doesn't matter right now." I said laughing.
"Guys, how are you overlooking the dude in the orange?" Said Angela. "He's smoking!"
"I don't see a cigarette near him." I said laughing.
"Oh shut up, Vella." Angela said.
We all realized we had been staring at those guys ever since they had came out. After that we laughed.
"Ok, well we need to get inside before we're late." I said. We were heading for the door when suddenly a girl with long, brown hair came up to us.
"Hi!" She said. "My names Alice! What's your name?" I laughed at how she was so perky.
"I'm Vella, this is Angela," "Hey." "And this is Katherine." "Hi."
"Well hi Vella, Angela, and Katherine! It's nice to meet you!" Alice said
"It's nice to meet you too. Hey do you know who those guys are over there?" Katherine said still not over seeing the guy in the blue.
"Oh them? The guy in the yellow is Evan Ferguson, the guy in the blue is Bobby Widener, and the guy in the orange is Tyler Robinette. Stay away from them. They're trouble, trust me." Alice said.
"Oh," I said, "Okay. Thanks."
After swapping schedules and finding out what we had together, we started heading towards the door once again, but I couldn't help thinking what's wrong with those guys?  Are they really that bad?  Then we stepped into the school that would change our lives.
