Chapter 8: Mining Into the Mine

Y/N Pov: I woke up today and got ready for the challenge. The team headed out, and we were told of our challenge: We were to head into the mine with heavy backpacks, find some golden chris statues, and get out.

Chris: "And oh yeah, this is where all of the toxic waste is. So yeah, go quick. It's not that safe after 30 minutes, and I am not going to end the season here. We haven't tortured you lot enough."

I looked over at Dawn, and she was obviously pretty mad with Chris. But we had to go into the mine.

Dawn: "Why would Chris put toxic waste in the mine? He could be harming the animals here!"

"Don't worry about this for now. We can hopefully clean it up if one of us wins."

Dawn: "Ok... Now, we have to go down the elevator."

Amelia (A/N: My OC, clumsy and lucky): "So... Who goes first?"

Lightning: "Sha-Lightning is going first!"

Mike: "Wh-"

I saw the Maggots huddle up and discuss, then they stepped aside and let us through.

Lightning: "Let's sha-go!"

The rest of the team went, however I stayed back just in case the maggots found a faster way to the mine.

Dawn: "Good luck Y/-!"

I saw the elevator suddenly fall, and it appeared that the rope snapped. I raced over and started yelling down.

"Dawn! B! Lightning! Are you ok???"

I was extremely concerned, especially about Dawn, and I heard no response.

"Great, now my entire team is gone..."

I felt my voice quivering

"I have no way down... If they're unconscious then..."

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and saw brick behind me.

Brick: "Don't worry soldier. You can come with us, hopefully they aren't hurt seriously.

"Thanks Brick."

I dusted myself off, and we went down into the mine.

Eventually, we made it down and started looking around. We couldn't see anything, however we did find some minecarts and hopped in. Brick and Cam in one cart, and me and the rest of our team in the other. However, the minecarts got seperated, and to make a long story short, I got seperated too. As I got out of the water from the lake, I noticed nobody nearby, and my watch flashed orange. 15 minutes left.

I decided to continue forward, just hoping that everybody was ok. Eventually, I noticed a small hole. Looking in made it apparent that this was a mole hole. I decided to risk it, and jumped down.

I walked through the hole, and ten minutes later my watched flashed red. 5 minutes left. I noticed a small hole, and it led into the cave. There, I noticed a shadowy figure on a throne, Lightning and B in minecarts, seemingly knocked out, and the rest of the maggots there, along with Dawn. The maggots, aside from Mike and Zoey, were in the minecarts, while Mike and Zoey were trying to get the statue. Dawn was also trying to get the statue.

I quickly rushed out, and as I went out I saw Zoey fall over with Mike protecting her, and Dawn got hit in the side by a mole. I had to act fast. I got Brick's attention, then pointed at him and then the duo. I pointed at myself, and then Dawn. Brick nodded, and we went off.

Brick went over and quickly pushed away the mole, then grabbed his teams statue while Mike helped Zoey up. Meanwhile, I got our team's statue, and hit the mole that was approaching Dawn.

Dawn: "Th-thanks..."

I noticed Dawn fall over, and I quickly picked her up and put her in the minecart, then helped Brick get Mike and Zoey. While this was happening, Chris told us to take off our bags. Everybody's bags got off, and with around a minute to spare, we hopped in.

(While shaking Dawn) "Dawn, are you ok?"

Dawn: "Huh-yeah..."

"Thank god. We're almost out of the mine-"

Just then, we shot out of the mine. We landed, but since we were in the back, we landed face-up.

Dawn: (While hugging Y/N) "Ah- wait, we're still straight up..."

"Yeah... I guess we're lucky.

Dawn: "Thank you so much...!"

"N-"

Then, the mine exploded, almost tipping the minecart over. We both got out of the minecart, and we ended up losing.

At the elimination ceremony, Lightning was eliminated. After that, I bumped into Dawn.

Dawn: "Hey Y/N..."

"Hey Dawn."

Dawn: "I just wanted to thank you. I could have died there... But you saved me. Thank you."

"It's not a big deal..."

Dawn: "No, it is. Thank you."

"No problem..."

After that, we slept... However, I couldn't sleep. I decided to go for a walk again. It started to rain, and I took shelter in a nearby cave. Coincidentally (But this is a reality tv show, so we all know this isn't a coincidence) I ended up in the same cave is Dawn.

Dawn: "Hi Y/N."

"Hi. Couldn't sleep, or are you always out here?"

Dawn: "I normally head out here to get some alone time. It's nice, y'know?"

"Cool."

After that, we just sat in silence for a bit before Dawn spoke up.

Dawn: "Listen, I can't thank you enough for what you did in the mine. That might have saved my life."

"And I would do it again in a heartbeat. You're one of my favorite people on the island, and I have no idea if I would have been this far into the game without you.

Dawn: (While blushing) "Thanks."

After that, I pulled Dawn into a hug, and next thing I knew, we were both fast asleep.

(A/N: THE PLOT ARC IS DONE YES! I hope you all like what I have done here, this took me quite a bit to plan out.)
