It's a quiet afternoon, Light was up in his room doing homework as usual, all of the sudden he feels a strong chill down his spine and felt awfully light headed right before suddenly passing out. It all happened way to quickly for him to even process while in his unconscious state, what the hell just happened? It couldn't have been lack of oxygen, he didn't feel this way earlier, and what about the strong chill down his spine? What was that all about? It felt like someone tossed a whole bag of ice at his back, or someone putting snow down his shirt but worse, before he even passed out, he felt dizzy or like when you stand up too fast, all of this was so confusing to him, he didn't understand what had just happened in only a couple of seconds. Slowly, he felt his consciousness regain, he groaned as he opened his eyes to see dawn creeping into his room, it took him a couple of minutes to get up since it hurt to even lift his head, Light got up, heading downstairs and not thinking much about what had happened, almost like he'd...forgotten all of that had even happened, "hey there Light, you're up early" "oh, uhh..yeah I guess.." "I tried waking you up last night but you weren't responsive, what was that about? I'm assuming you were just tired.." Light titled his head and gave a confused expression "what? what are you talking about?" his mom gave the same confused look "huh? you don't remember?" "no..? I don't know what you mean.." Sachiko's expression changed from confused to worried and concerned, looking at her clueless son, she sighed quietly, looking away, leaving her son more clueless before he left for school

Light had several thoughts rushing through him, realizing something isn't right but he just couldn't figure out what exactly, he slowly started piecing things together when he couldn't even remember his friends names when they walked up to him to say hi "(something's wrong, why can't remember a single thing?!)" he sighed, sitting at his desk and staring out the window, getting lost in his train of thought, wondering what's going on, until he saw a notebook falling from the sky, immediately catching his attention as it fell and hit the ground, he wanted to run out and grab it so badly but he worried that he'd forget why he was outside, so he just looked away, in hopes he'd remember the notebook. Once he got outside, he went to over to where the notebook had fell and picked it up "(death..note? Is this some sick joke?)" He looked at the notebook, before opening it "(how to use it: the human who's name is written in this notebook...shall die?!)" He shuttered a bit reading that, but he was curious, so he put the notebook away in the bag he carries. "(Why..can't I remember anything? Why can't I remember everything before I forgot? Somethings...not right, I can definitely tell somethings off)" Light still couldn't figure out a single thing, why? Why was this happening? Was this a dream? No, he couldn't be dreaming..he hoped he was, he didn't wanna be like this at all
