Prologue

"Hey. My name is Lia Valentine . I'm 18 years old and this video is based on my life. I don't know why I'm doing this but I want my story to be heard." said a skinny pale skinned teen girl sitting in front of a camera that was a foot away from her.

The slight bags under her eyes that doesn't seem so attractive with hazel eyes. She was short for her age along with her weight out of control: height at 5'1 and weight at 111 pounds.

" When i was born, my name is actually Lauryn Goodwin. I lived with a abusive family until I was 5 years old when I was put in foster home. It continued from foster home to foster home, and all of them were like the same; nothing but abuse and abuse." She continued as tears fell down onto her cheeks as some salty water went into her mouth.

"It just continued over and over. Repeatedly. And I was only 5 to 7 years old." Her tears fell even faster. Her voice became more shaky. Her nose becoming runny. She can imagine her makeup was smeared already with her eyes and nose blood red.

She can remember the memories like it was yesterday. She can remember the pain. The yelling and threats echo in her mind.

"And when I was 15 years old. I ran away and lived on the streets. I remember the people who walked by asked 'why aren't you home. Are you lost' I answer no. Their were almost times when I wanted to tell them I lived in a abused home and ask them to help me or adopt me. I didn't go to school so I couldn't get a job-- I couldn't even read a sentence without messing up or even count up to 100 without messing up" she said saying nothing but the truth of her past life.  She held up a small picture of a young girl; her hair in two small ponytails, her smile was adorable with her two front teeth gone, her skin was a tiny bit tanned which made her hazel eyes brighten up more.That was her.

"And when I was 16. I got adopted into a family who had 2 other children who were adopted also. I started thinking that they were the same last every last family who adopted me. But they were different, they respected me and actually smiled at me. They called me they're daughter. They actually loved me like they're own. They understood me and what I been through. I'm now 18 years old and been living with my adopted family for 2 years straight.  And I been happy for those 2 years. I going to school but I'm actually in 10th grade but I won't be graduating until I'm 20 so that's a bit embarrassing but it's totally worth it. My name is Lauryn Goodwin but got it legally changed into Lia Valentine and that was my story." She said before stopping the recording. That girl was Lia Valentine and that's when her new social life started--just by that one video
