"I really think your capable of this job, Danni." Mr. Harris explained. I mean, I knew I was good at math, but to tutor a student? What if I mess something up? What if they don't like the way I do something? The possibilities were endless.
"Are you sure, Mr. Harris?" I asked nervously.
"Yes. I think your more than capable of tutoring Luke Williams. So, are you up for it?"
When I heard his name, my face glowed up like a christmas tree. Me tutoring Luke Williams, my crush since the 3rd grade! I didn't know whether to be excited or scared.
"Uhmm, sure! I think I can do it." I said with a wide smile on my face. "Just tell me when."
"Well, how about later after school today? Luke is attending homework club after school to catch up on his work. Maybe a little extra help can get him on the right track." He said, eyeing me for a hopeful 'yes'.
"Sure. I'll just call my mom and tell her to pick me up." I replied. Mr. Harris gave a quick nod to me right before I walked out the door to my last class. The only thing on my mind was Luke and after school, but I snapped back to reality when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"So. You and Luke." My best friend, Lexi said with a grin and a nudge.
"You were eavesdropping?!" I nearly screamed. She looked at me with an obvious look on her face.
"Oh Danni, of course I was. Were best friends." I just grinned and playfully pushed her a little to the side.
"Well, have fun at chemistry." She said as she ran off to her next class.
"I have chemistry first period!" I screamed, questioning her.
"Thats not what I meant!" she screamed back before entering her classroom. I just rolled my eyes and smiled before walking into history class.

After spending a good forty minutes learning about the Spanish-American War, the bell rang and school was out. Which meant time to see Luke for the first time since, well history class. I walked up the dull school staircase to the second floor where the library was. Luke had already came early and reserved a table to scatter his math books on. I walked through the doors and began to walk towards him.
"So uhh," he began "you must be my new tutor."
"Uh, yep. Thats me." I replied, a little bit shyly. One part of me was hoping he didn't remember a thing about me from elementary, but another part was demanding him knowing every little thing he can about me.
"Danni, right? We, umm, we went to elementary school together." Well, now I know which part fate wanted him to know.
"Yea. Well, we should probably get started. I hear you have a lot to catch up on." I said to him, staring into his deep blue eyes. I glanced away for a second to sit and get my books out as well.
"Okay," he said, breaking the stare "well can we start with this paper. Its got me all messed up. I've been at it for days and I can't figure it out."
I looked at the paper and it looked so easy to me. All this work is from my last years math class. It was a piece of cake.
"Well, did you look at chapter thirteen in your book?" I asked.
Luke looked at me with a questioned face, then back at the paper, then grabbed his book and flipped it to chapter thirteen.
"Do you understand it now?" I asked.
"Yeah, its actually pretty easy now. Thanks sooo much!" he said thankfully. He began to put his books away right after he saw the time. "Sorry to leave in such a hurry, but footballs gotta be played!"
"Okay, well have fun!" I screamed back.
"What you're not going?" I nodded my head in rejection. "You shouldn't miss it!"
I thought in my head, 'I can't go! I have school work and chores and ughh!'. Then I thought, eh, what the heck! A little bit of free time is what I need! I was going to that football game, and I AM going to have a great time!
