It was finally Saturday, I wake up in my dull room, and the first thing I see is the fog on my windows, that it's raining.
I looked at the digital clock that was on the drawer next to my bed and it read, ' 4:25 A.M '. I groaned and looked around my room.It was dark, I slowly turned the lamp, that was on my right night stand, on.
I slipped out of bed, and I turned on the light in my closet wardrobe. It was very simple, I didn't have different clothing, I did, just that they are in the simplest color.
I didn't bother to go into the shower, because, the rain would probably soak me.I took off my PJs, and looked at my closet. Gray, just Gray. I crouched under all the clothes and took out a dark Gray box and opened it. Inside, was burgundy colored, long sleeve shirt, black leggings, black shoes, and black rain coat. Thank you Alice. Deep into the box were other types of clothes but that really didn't matter. I hid the box back into its place and put the clothes I took out on.
I looked under my bed to find an umbrella , but there was only one, a bright pink one. I sighed and took it out.
'Mom bought this old thing for me when I was 7' I thought. I examined it to make sure it wasn't ripped or anything horrid. And unknowingly, started to untangle my hair with my fingers. After 5 minutes, I slowly grabbed the umbrella, opened the door, stepped onto the wooden flooring, and gently closing the door. I quietly walk down the stairs to see the sky clearly, that it's dark.
'It will have to do' I thought, and grabbed a muffin from the pantry. As I was about to unlock the front door, a meow came from behind me. I groaned. Christina's cat, Lis. I hated this creature to insanity, but if my little sister loves it, I guess I have to show some support. Yet, if I make another movement with the front door, Lis will meow loudly, waking The rest.
"Hey Lissy. Go back to sleep you old puff." I said, roughly. Lis started to strut toward the couch, what a loser. She knows if I just continue what I'm doing she'll wake the whole family up.I put the umbrella down, walked toward, under the top pantry. And got the bag of Cat Treats.
'This damn treat better be worth the money' I seriously thought. I grabbed a treat and threw it far away from the front door. Lis just stayed there.
"Lis, go to sleep!" I hissed. She jumped off the couch and ran toward the treat, not returning to the living room. I let out a breath, that cat gets on my nerves, every time we meet.I put on my hood, grabbed the umbrella , and slowly unlocked the front door. I looked behind me to make sure Lis wasn't there, and slowly, and steadily, opened the door. It was raining lightly, everything's dark, but I'm already used to it.
I opened the umbrella and started to walk toward mom's shop. It was where Van Drive is, and where I will investigate.
I've been walking for 15 minutes, if I could count, but felt like hours. Ahead, I saw a rusty shed, that's new.
"Change?" An elderly voice said. I looked into the door-less shed to see an old woman holding a sign saying, ' EVERY CENT COUNTS'. Jeez, I didn't bring money with me.
"I don't have change, I'm very sorry." I told her.
"What are you doing, in this rainy day?" She asked."Just taking a stroll." I lied. She walked into her shed and came back with bread and hands it to me.
"For when you starve, dear." She finished and walked back into the shed and started to sleep. Even the poor are the nicest things.I walked some more which took 5 minutes, I decided to walk more faster incase the sun decided to rise earlier, and there I was in the parking lot of my mom's shop, and to the right of it very hidden, was Van Drive. I walked toward the dark shrubbery and all I saw was rocks and oak trees. I put my umbrella down and let the heavy rain fall all over me. I looked through the rocks and the trees to see if there was a path, and if Jack wasn't lying because then I would kill him. I then started to hear sirens. I turned around to see the Calico County Police coming around the corner, patrolling the perimeters to see if people were still sleeping, man I hate the government in Calico, I once kept asking my mom if we can move out but then we have to sign heck of paperwork so she always ignored it.
I quickly closed my umbrella and tried to hide behind the bushes and trees, trying to use the rocks for support. The CCP, what I like to call them, got out of their car and looked around the shop, one of them just walked passed me, I tried to not breath hard. Two of them were starting a conversation right in front of me, I am officially scared.
I was trying to get a little comfortable when the rock behind my back started to move, I froze, was it a rock or and animal? I quietly looked behind it and it was a rock, but it was loose. I held on to my umbrella and the rock kept getting looser. The CCP looked toward me, they better not be looking at my umbrella, the rock finally broke out and I actually started to fall down what the rock was protecting.
It was a short fall. I had fallen on moist mossy grass, and it didn't injure me in any way. I looked around the one way path. Everything was light grey, with grey branches hanging from the sides, and ahead was a type of light. I have no idea if this really is the boarder to South Calico or whatever it is. It might be good.
I turned back to see if the CCP are
Following, but I think the fall lost them. I opened my umbrella since it was still raining but less heavy and walked toward the light. No animals were to be found and the path seem to take hours to get to the light. But as I got closer to the light it had gotten brighter to blinding. I was almost there, the light became more blinding, as I got to the end of the path, the path was very blinding that I could see the light through my eye lids, and this was so bright, that I blacked out....
