The New Employee

Y/n POV

"You have to show the new person around. No one else is working today." My boss said. He was pretty scary.

"Yes sir!" I signed.

"Try to speak. He won't understand your language." Boss scolded me.

"Excuse me?" Someone said. I turned to see someone in our respective uniform.

"Greetings! My name is y/n, and welcome to your first day at Nick's Animal Care! May I know your name?" I signed.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Are you deaf or mute? Sorry if I sound rude.." he asked. He apologized and I responded in sign language. "Oh okay! So selective mute!" I learned his name was Grayson, and I showed him around.

"Thanks for the tour. I look forward to working with you, y/n!" He said. I nodded and we went to tend to our duties of taking care of animals.

"Thank you! You can come back next week to pick up Mr. Bagel!" Grayson said with a smile. It was nearing the end of the day and we got 5 adoptions for next week. "Alright you two, run along. Y/n, can you take Lucy once more?" Boss said. I nodded and put Lucy on a leash. "I still have 4 hours until my moms home. You wanna come over to play Minecraft?" Grayson asked.

I just shook my head and grabbed his wrist, dragging him to a nearby arcade. I paid for some tokens and we went to play games. I insisted on buying Grayson's tokens, but he bought his own. We were competing against one another in a game called Dance Dance Revolution, or DDR.

"How are you not tired yet! We played two rounds of this!" Grayson yelled, out of breath.

"You wanna watch me play the hardest level on that one?" I signed.

"WHAT?!" Gray yelled. I walked over to the machine and inserted a token. I selected the level titled IMPOSSIBLE and hit start. The music started and I began to play. Whenever it was over, I won the jackpot of 10,000 tickets and Gray was in shock. Since there was a new level I had no idea about, I played it and won its jackpot. The jackpot for HELL was 50,000.

Me and Gray split the tickets and we both ended with 207,000 tickets. We both had our eyes on one thing, the newest pc with triple-frame setup. But it costed 250,000 tickets. I inhaled, preparing to use my voice. "How much would it cost to even our ticket amounts to 250,000? I asked the man.

"Oh, you're our first customers in a while, so please. I will give them too you for 200,000 tickets! A friendly discount!" He said. We both paid and told him to take all of our tickets. "You know, your voice is really high. It's cute!" Gray told me, a slight blush on his face. I felt my face heat up and told him to shut up.

"It's about 5pm. You headed home or are you going to do something else? I hear there's a new cafe that just opened up! We can go while we wait for 6, pick up our setups and head home!" Grayson suggested. I nodded, knowing cafes around.

We approached the cafe and went inside, ordering our drinks. "Do you want to tell her do you want me to?" He asked. Polite much? I handed him a piece of paper with my usual order on it. He ordered it and we sat down outside.

"So, with Lucy. Why did the boss want you to take her?" Gray asked. We received our drinks a minute later and I responded. "Lucy needs to get a feel of what it's like to be in a real home since she's never been adopted." I told him. "That's a shame.. she's a sweet dog. Not to mention a loving Collie breed." Gray pet the small collie behind her ears.

"Y/n?" I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up to see Tubbo, wearing his cafe uniform. I jumped up and hugged Tubbo, him hugging me back. "So, I see you met Grayson?" He said, pulling up a chair to sit with us since his shift was ending.

"How do you know Gray?" I signed to him.

"I know you met Purpled on my stream, I rewatch my vods." Tubbo smiled mischievously at me. "I planned this Serenade of events for your meetup since I checked your phone before going to bed last night." Grayson began to fix his look before putting on a purple hoodie. "Greetings y/n live, the names Grayson, or Purpled."

My eyes widened and I began to silently freak out. I had only met Purpled a day ago and I already met him! Question is, how is he here? I know most people around the block and I don't know him.

Purpled took out his phone and began typing. I got a discord notification and I checked it.
