The day has finally come. You were about to meet Jeonghan to either try to reconcile with one another or to official end things there. This would might be the last time you'd look for him, desire him. Everything about him will cease to exist in your mind if it all turns to ruins. You were ready for everything. You practiced all night as to what you wanted to chat about, how you'd try to react if either way happens. Every option crossed your mind while you were thinking about today.
Pulling up your thin wrist, the watch that displayed the time. It was 3:30. You decided on meeting at 4:00, but you decided to come early to order a drink before hand. A way to calm you down before the nerve racking situation. You placed your fingers on the door handle, pushing the glass open as the bell jingled above you. You looked around, hoping to find an empty spot. Yet one face that turned around seemed to catch your attention. The high cheek bones, narrow nose bridge, eyes that were brown and filled with desperate. A chin that was starting to grow a little stubble.
—Jeonghan looked a mess. Dark round bags under his eyes expressed his lack of sleep and the red puffiness around his eyes expressed his constant crying. Anyone could see that. Paleness coloring his face and body.It worried you, but everything about him worried you. You glance at your watch on last time, seeing if what you saw before was correct. It was. It was now 3:34. Jeonghan stood up from the chair, his Adam's apple bouncing while he watched you approach him. You pulled the chair from the opposite side and placed your bag in your lap glancing around. You weren't sure as to what to say. So Jeonghan decided to start the conversation. "You look beautiful."
"...Thanks. You don't look bad yourself." You nod your head, waiting for the waiter to walk over and ask you for your order. You just intended on getting a drink. You weren't planning on staying long, you planned on having a conversation, seeing as to where this would lead, then leave. You still felt the need for time to heal.
"I suppose we're here to talk about everything." Jeonghan mumbled, playing with his fingers. He was a mess. He was barely even shaving his face now. A small stubble was growing on his chin and his hair was all messy. Luckily he was able to keep hygienic, his hair wasn't greasy, but it did lay flat on his head, which was very unlike him. You nodded your head. Jeonghan ticked his tongue, feeling foolish. "What happened that night... I'm not going to lie and say that we didn't do it, what the reason you're thinking of is not it at all—"
"Yeonhee told me already." You interrupted, clutching on tightly to your bag that laid on your lap. You shut you eyelids close, a heavy sigh escaping your lips. "Look, what happened then doesn't matter to me. You and I weren't dating, we weren't in a relationship. I also came unannounced. But let me just ask you this one thing..."
—"Did you even like me?""Of course I did! I still do!" Jeonghan practically yells, standing to his feet. I glance around the cafe, people turned their heads towards us, wondering what the hell is wrong with all of them. Jeonghan coughs awkwardly, sitting back down at the table. "I never stopped loving you."
You were confused. If he claimed to have loved you so much... why'd he never break it off with Yeonhee? You needed to know, you just had to ask.
—So you did. You asked him. His face turned pale when those words left your cracked trembling lips. Jeonghan bit his lip, getting ready to confess whatever the answer was, but no words rolled off his tongue. "Did you like Yeonhee at the same time you confessed to me?"Jeonghan was hesitant. You had your answer. The hesitation was enough to answer the heart breaking question. You stood up from your chair, pushing it in. You say absolutely nothing, turning on your heel getting ready to leave. The shaky voice that called out for you put your feet to a stop. "I thought I did. I thought I liked both of you at that moment. I might've, I don't know. All I do know is, all I can think about is you. You're constantly in my head."
You shut your eyes taking in his words. Why'd he confess to liking you when he had a girlfriend he didn't know if still harbored feelings for? Make it make sense. At the same time, you noticed how hypocritical it was. Blaming him for something you also kind of did. So you shut you mouth, heaving out a heavy sigh. You came there today to try and get a verdict. In the end, the only two options wasnt the choice you picked. Turned out there hide a third option. The option of uncertainty. "Give me time, Jeonghan. I still don't know."
Jeonghan nods his head, watching you departure from the dark cafe. His lonely self slumping against his chair. Massaging his face with his hands. He didn't want to let you go, but he knew that pushing it would make things worse.
The cafe door shut with a gentle bell. The bright sun blinding your eyes momentarily. When they finally adjusted to the brightness and the hot heat that kissed your skin, you eyes met with one person you absolutely didn't want to talk to or see.
—Kim Mingyu. His eyes dragged from you, towards the heart broken Jeonghan who rested his face in the table. You couldn't help but roll you eyes, pulling your bag tighter onto your shoulder and moving your feet in the opposite direction from him, but in reality he was in the direction you were suppose to be heading."Y/N!" Mingyu shouted. You quickened your steps. The outcome was obvious. Mingyu had longer legs, he was also more physically athletic than you, it took no time for him to catch up and follow from behind you. "Wait! Can we talk?! What were you talking about with Jeonghan? Did you reject him—"
You stop and turn back around, practically going into a run to try and escape him. Why should you answer his questions? You both put each other in equal amount of shit. You were both neck high in a shit creek. At this point you wanted to avoid him, not speak to him, to act as if you didn't even know him.
—Strangers. You wanted to be strangers.Yet his persistency to follow you and repeat the same questions left you astonished... and irritated. You snap your head around, eyes darting at him with daggers and a heavy dark glare shooting towards his face. It might've seemed like they were begging him to shut up, but in reality they were threatening him with his life. "Why won't you talk to me?"
"Why should I talk to you?" You fired back, voice as cold as ice. You didn't want to be there.
"Why not? You're talking to Jeonghan, you're talking to Yeonhee." Mingyu sneered following behind you once again. You both kept getting weird glances from irrelevant people. It made you want to pluck your eyes out. What was this? A Kdrama? A Spanish telenovelas? This wasn't suppose to be entertainment for other people, but we all knew it was. People enjoying themselves off of the misery of others. "Yeonhee told me how she feels."
You look back, squinting your eyes at him. She told him? You were curious as to what his thoughts were. An instinct told you that it wasn't a good thing, and you were correct.
"I told her I didn't like her. I told her that I like you. I told her..." Mingyu mumbled, his feet shuffling on the ground. Stopping them in front of you. A heartbroken smile creeping on his face while he lifts his hand, dragging the back of his hand along the cheek of your face, caressing you gently. "... that she'd never be you."
You mouth hung open at his blatantly rude words. You weren't sure if he was being honest. His eyes and his facial expressions gave you reassurance that he was being truthful. It sickened you to the bone. Gave you chills that they saying of you being the ice princess was becoming true. You harshly grip Mingyus wrist, pulling it away from your face, squeezing tightly at the bone you felt him tremble momentarily.
"You want to know something Mingyu?" You asked, anger rushing through you like a tsunami. A small appearing with your cold hearted eyes, the two didn't match. "I am really, seriously, genuinely sorry for what I did. It wasn't right and sooo wrong of me...— but I never liked you, I still don't like you, and I will never like you. Get that through your dumb fucking brain, because I'm done with all this toxicity."
You laugh throwing Mingyus wrist to the wide. His eyes widened with shock, he could tell you were raging. Never once have you said cruel words to this extent. You kept true to your title, you were really the ice Princess, as cold as ice, that could only be tamed with the fire that was Jeonghan. It seemed as if the blame wasn't hot enough though. "It's sad. You hurt probably the only person who gives a shit about your worthless ass. At least for me, I don't have anyone who cares enough to worry about me to that extent... So now be useful for once and apologize."
