One house of Gryffindor, holding two hearts,
In wondrous Hogwarts, where we lay our scene,
From a 5-year grudge old anger departs,
As the flower learns of the stag's true dream.
From forth a simple task, a class project,
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take the stage;
Where they learn of truths they did not expect,
And start a new chapter, turning the page.
The hopeful passage of their new-found love,
Mark'd by the kiss of accidental lips,
Which, even Thanatos, nought could shove,
Is the climax where hidden feelings slip;
The which if you with eager eyes read on,
Here shall find, to each other they are drawn.
[IMPORTANT] Author's Note: It's been so long since I last wrote a fanfic... as well as even hopping on Wattpad in general. I apologize to everyone who I abandoned when I started to drift away from this app: both readers and friends. In all honesty, I strayed away from Wattpad when it started straying away from the safe haven it once was to me. I joined Wattpad in 2014 and a lot has changed since then, good and bad. But that's not the point lol; the point is that I wrote a thing for the first time in forever and I think I resurrect on Wattpad with it. I actually wrote this as an english assignment last term (yes, my prof actually let me submit fanfic for my final assignment, he is AWESOME) and I'm pretty proud of it. Excluding the prologue, it's a total of 8 acts/chapters (I call them "acts" to fit the theme of a play) and I will be posting two every day for the next few days. I will most likely make a ton of edits/additions afterwards (might even make it an actual novel-length thing :eyes:), but I have a tendency to edit chapters I've already written several times and never move on with the story, so I'm posting all of it first before I go into editing mode. I also drew the cover art myself so please don't steal it or anything (though I doubt anyone can or would want to, I just wanted to say it lol) of the sort! I hope to update Through The Pages soon now that I am trying to settle back into Wattpad, or at least be a bit more active, but I have to admit that my writing style is a bit different now than it was 2 years ago and I would probably be making a lot of changes to both the character Sky and the plot. We'll see though. For now, hope you enjoy A Lily By Any Other Name! And pray that I never try to do anything with Shakespeare again; matching the same amount of lines, syllables per line, rhyming scheme, punctuation (mostly), and tone of the original R&J prologue while writing a completely contrasting version of the lovers' ending in the story made my head hurt SO MUCH. -Trip
