The fire rose. The sparks were cackling and flicking around Y/N's face, mischievously laughing at what they had done to her home. Y/N was climbing with a heavy breath to the top of her treehouse, hands aggressively scraping along the old wood. The fire came closer. She'd look down as the orange flames reflected off her widened eyes.
Jump.
Do it.
It's all you can do.She thought. Her eyes narrowed at the snowy ground, it would soften her land, but not by that that much. Y/N felt her brain melt and skin heat up.
Jump, what the fuck are you thinking about? How else are you supposed to escape this shit??
Her leg muscles tensed at the long jump, and at last, she pushed off like a baby bird teaching itself how to fly. The fall seems slow at first but not a full second later Y/N accelerated, crashing into the ground.
Nothing.
She must've hallucinated. Not a minute has gone by when Y/N felt her body start waking up. She could feel the freezing, wet snow underneath her, sinking through her clothes. She let out a small groan when she realised that the icy ground has made her skin numb. Opening her tired eyes she struggled to get up into a sit; Y/N rested against a dark tree with bark that pierced her back, but she thought nothing of it. Instead she was thinking about other important things like:
Why was my treehouse on fire? Who did it? Why would they want to this? Why? Why?
Wh-For a moment she paused.
Whoever did this wants something from me.
Her muscle memory triggered her to check the belt that held all her potions - including the one. The one which could develop into destroying a very massive area, like a bomb...but liquid.
Ah shit, the bottle's cracked. I need a new one.
Y/N began to stand up, but her legs felt weak. A piercing pain came from her left ankle.
"ARGH!" Y/N wailed in an angry tone.
Her bottom half of her left leg shot up from the ground so no pressure went on it.
"Great, now I have a broken ankle. Broken ankle, broken bottle, broken treehoouse-"
Y/N's eyes slowly travelled around to look for her burnt down wooden house. She turned her body round, looking behind the tree she was leaning on. A silent gasp escaped from her throat, struggling for a reaction. It was gone. Her home she had since....since she ran her away from him. Y/N's emotion was built up enough for a few tears to escape from her eyes, and it was so cold it felt like those tears were turning into ice cubes. Her sleeve of her patchy, sewn up hoodie came up against her face to wipe of the fluid. There was nothing she could do about it. All she could do is run away. Again.
