Corbin

Lily had gone batshit crazy. I had never seen a she-wolf act so much like a male. I wanted to act the same way she was. I was furious with the way Marcel had treated Ember. But the pack was looking up to me there were things to do. Marie had left quickly after Marcel appeared. She had her mate and a sick child to look after, and our land was too dangerous for her.

"So when are we going to go rescue her?" Clara snapped. A few of us were sitting in the living room, going over plans. "They are going to attack at any time. We can't let them have the upperhand again."

I sighed as I held my head in my hands. Marcel's visit had caught us completely by surprise. We had thought about ransoming Ember at first, but....I didn't want to lose her. Then he came and practically forced the exchange on us. His wolves even managed to get all the way to the farthest part of our territory unnoticed to release the kids.

"We don't know anything about the city and we don't have human weapons. We couldn't shift and have the chance of a humans seeing us," Erin snapped back. They were at each other's necks, everyone was. "We don't know the extent of their numbers. We would be as good as dead!"

"But that monster has her! You saw what he did to her!" Clara roared as tears filled her eyes.

"I want her back and safe more than anyone else!" Erin yelled pounding his fist on his chest.

"We know he won't kill her," I groaned as I sat up, "We know that much. I say we let them come to us. Fight on our turf-"

"We will stand with you!" a new voice piped up.

I whipped around to see Lily standing next to her brother. He was a young man, unlike Lily he was tall and built. His blue eyes shone and a wide smile crossed his face.

"Leo!" Erin stood up and hugged his mate's brother. I stood up as the Alpha's of the Eclipse pack came forward. They were much older than most Alpha's. From what I understood, Luna was struggling to have children. There was a lot of secrecy surrounding the pack, they never held balls and only a few members left the pack. I had only met them once when I was a kid.

"Corbin you look well," Alpha Max smiled at me and I shook his hand. I turned and bowed to Luna Rene. But her eyes were looking around widely and her nose was twitching.

"If only we got here sooner," she said and shook her head.

"I am sorry, I have failed the family," Lily said, bowing tears streaming down her face.

"No child. We failed the family long ago," Rene said shaking her head. Her hair was pure white her brown eyes looked over me.

"We will assist you in fighting off the rogue pack. However, we want the safe return of the girl, Ember," Rene said.

I raised an eyebrow, "For what reason do you want her? Your pack is so far from the city, I doubt the rogues have caused you trouble.'

She let out a sigh, "We need privacy. Only you and Erin can stay."

"We can go to my office," I said guiding them up the stairs. I sat down with Erin on my side while the Alpha's sat on the couch. Lily and Leo bordering them.

"This is of the utmost secrecy. A secret that has been kept hidden for many generations," Max said his brows coming together.

"Of course Alpha-"

"Well it isn't really a secret anymore. Practically everyone will now," Rene shook her head agitated as tears came to her eyes. I watched as she wiped her eyes and when she opened them her eyes were the same color as Embers.

"Each woman in my family is born with telekinesis power and fiery eyes. We lose our power after our daughter gives birth to their own child, but we keep our eyes. Because of our ability we kept it a secret so no one could take advantage of what we can do," Rene suddenly burst into tears holding her face in her hands.

"Luna," Lily whispered as she rubbed her back in a caring fashion.

"When I had my first child, I got extremely ill. If I was to have another child there would be a huge possibility I wouldn't make it. It is rare but we hoped Scarlet would take care of the pack until she had her own son" Rene said, "I failed my duty as Luna and put all the responsibility on my only child."

"Rene," Max said soothingly, "Scarlet was...a very wild child. She rebelled constantly. The power she has is an extremely strong one, we were trying to keep her safe. But she was always running away, exploring our borders."

"When Scarlet met her mate...things went for the worse. He was a kind man, but he didn't want to become Alpha and he was from a different pack. Tradition is for the female to live in the males pack... we were ready to make an expectation...I will never understand why Goddess paired her with such a weak man. We argued constantly, she wanted to live with him. In a different pack. She didn't care about her responsibilities to her pack," Max said shaking his head.

"We were fools. We should have let her live her life. She just wanted to be free. She ran away. We searched everywhere for her, but her and her mate took off," Rene whispered, "She was still a young girl before anything. Because I failed, a huge burden was put on her. We expected much of her. When I lost my powers, there was new hope. We started our search again. Looking for any kind of trace. Then out of nowhere Lily called us."

"My family has been protecting the Fire wolves for many generations. We hold a special connection with them and when I met Ember. I knew it had to be her," Lily said.

I stared at them for a moment as I took in the information. That's why Embers wolf was huge, she was part of the Alpha family.

"She deserves to come back home and her brother is the rightful heir," Rene said, "The day Ember was born Scarlet sent a message to me. She told me when Ember turned 15 she would give her the choice to come to our pack. Then...then I felt when she left this world. We searched the cities for her family but we still couldn't find them. The city is just too big."

"We will help your pack fight the rogues. Every single one of our warriors are at your disposal. We just want our grandchild back from that horrible rogue," Max said in a wavering voice.

I nodded my head in understanding. "There might be an issue," I whispered as I finally made up my mind.

"Ember is my mate. I am positive Marcel tricked her into thinking they are mates," I said looking over the group. Lily just smiled. She knew it from the very beginning. She had said it multiple times to me and I told her not to mention it to anyone. At first I had been scared of what the pack would think. Being my mate ment that Ember would be luna if she accepted me. But now I felt the tension in the pack, everyone wanted Ember back safely.

Rene and Max shared a look and I knew they were discussing the new piece of news.

"I think Ember should decide for herself. She has lived a difficult life. I think she should decide if she want to go back to Eclipse or stay here," Lily said clapping her hands together, "She deserves to choose"

"You are right," Rene said, sighing, "We just want them safe."

I nodded my head, "We have warriors patrolling the border. We are expecting them any day now."
