I find myself wondering....Wondering about what will happen next. What will happen after everyone is consumed by this raging disease? Yes, disease. That's a perfect name for this horrid thing. I still find myself wondering, though. Will anyone survive? Will anyone be left to carry out the killing of these things? Or will we all be swallowed up in this, never to do a thing about it? Can we stop this? Or are we wasting our time?
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I turn the corner, pointing my gun down the dark hallway. Nothing stirs. I sigh and lower the gun. Then, something lunges at me from the shadows.
"Shit!" I yell, as I frantically shoot at it.
The sillhoutte of a man falling to the floor, still, is seen. I stare at it, making sure I killed it. There is no movement and I ease up. "Savage bastard," I spat and make my way down the hallway.
This was not how the world was supposed to be.
My heart is still pounding in my chest and I swear that I can hear it beating. Ba dump. Ba dump. Ba dump. Ignoring the constant beat of my heart, I stop in front of a large window. Silver moonlight paints the small patch of the hallway and I can see someone standing in front of me. She smiles politely and lets down her golden, curly locks. Blue eyes turn to blood red pools and I point my gun at her. "It's rude to point a gun at a lady, sir," she says, bearing her sharp fangs. I smirk. "I don't consider you a lady anymore, ma'am," I tell her. I watch as she takes a step closer to me. I placed my finger firmly on the trigger.
"Come now, you would not shoot a lady," she says as she advances on me.
"I TOLD YOU, I DON'T CONSIDER YOU A LADY ANYMORE!!!!!" I scream, shooting her right through the head. Stopping dead, her mouth opens wide and she lets out a silent wail of pain. Her body turns to ash and I grimmace at the sight. "A true vampire," I hiss in disgust. As dark clouds cover the moon, I am left in darkness for seconds and then the light returns.
Nothing in this world is right anymore.

With a sigh, I take a seat beside the pale and scrawny-looking man in the office. He turns to me with a knowing look. "Rough night?" he asks me, fangs peeking over his bottom lip. I turn to him, clueless as to who he was, and reply, "Yeah. And...Um...I'm Fallon Tresk." He looks me over and then turns back to look into his filled cup. "I've heard of you," he tells me, "One of the best, they say.....Well, I'm Jersey Kampton." Turning to me, he holds out his hand. I shake it hesitantly. I stare into his hazel eyes and look for a trace of that familiar savage glint. But all I see is admiration.
"So, Jersey, you're a vampire?"
I look away from him as he answers, "Yes, I am. But I'm not going to betray you humans. I'm not like that."
"Is that so?"
"What are you getting at, Fallon?"
"It's nothing. I'm just not used to working with blood-suckers."
"Shut up....."
"What did I say?"
Jersey stands and walks to the door. He opens it and, before he steps out, he growls, "You know damn well what you said." The door slams shut and I just stare at it. "I know, huh? Well, it isn't my fault you are what you are. It's your own," I mutter to myself as I peer into his cup. The dark red liquid ripples as I pick it up. "Blood...Pure human blood. I wonder where he got it..."
Before I can even start to speculate, my cell phone rings in my pocket. I slam the cup back down onto the table and pull it out. "Hello?" I say, brining it to my ear. I hear static at first, but then, "Fallon, I found her." I freeze in the seat and my breathing becomes shallow. "Y-You did?" I stutter, too shocked. "Yes. I'll send you my location now." And with that, I click 'end' and wait for the text message. There was the usual vibration and I press view. I see the words and quickly stand up.
"I finally got the answer I needed."
