A meeting was held outside of the lions once the lions had fully recharged. Matt still struggled getting into contact with Earth, with his parents and Pidge found no hope in getting in contract with the Voltron coalition. 

They wondered if it was the distance or because the lions had only just recharged but they knew they couldn't just hang about either. So, a meeting was held to discus their next step. 

And they had finally agreed on returning home, to return to Earth. 

Sam held the plans to build a new castle of lions for them and all the paladins liked the thought of seeing their love ones once more. 

They needed this small break but the journey back to earth without the a worm jump or the castle of lions to help, it was going to take a long six months. 

Meaning, everyone had to buddy up in the lions one way or another. 

"I'm going with Matt" Shiro announced before Keith could drag him into the black lion. 

"Oh, you didn't have a choice in that matter. I want you where I can always see you during this flying home in a tin metal shell. I'm not giving you a single chance to be "alone" with Pidgeon. I know what you young teens would get up too if left alone" Matt simply replied as he crossed his arms and giving Shiro a certain look making his friend roll his eyes.

"Will you stop trying to make me sound like a horny teen boy who's the scum of the earth.  You do know I was the sensible between us, didn't you use to talk about being a charming ladies man who had all the best flirts. I feel like I should be keeping an eye on you not the other way around" Shiro argued back, his face straight as he raising his own judging eyebrow towards Matt.

"Yes, I talked about it but we both know how much I messed up around girls. They just couldn't handle my handsome nerdy self, I was just too cool for them. But you, you don't get rejected and is a completely enemy for all men in this universe. I'm just doing my job as a brother because I know how easily charmed other's are by you" Matt huffed back, giving a determined nod while Shiro just shook his head amused.  

"I'm rather sure that even if I did try something towards Pidge, she'll throw me out into space without a helmet. Don't forget she was brought up with the Galra way, she'd clearly not just do anything that you're thinking off. They mate for life" Shiro shot back as he placed his hand on his hip and gave Matt a pointed look as he reminded him over how strong Pidge really is. 

"Hang on, mate for life like seahorses do. Wow, so when Pidge decides on someone, that's it for the rest of her life. Isn't that nerve-wracking. You can't just try again if something fails or find someone who's a better fit" Lance mumbled out in shock as he turned towards Pidge who tilted her head to the side.

"What's a seahorse and what do you mean "can't just try again"? Why would I want anyone then my mate who'll share eternal love with me. Don't you earthlings settle down with the love of your life?" Pidge replied in confusion, tilting her head to the side like a lost puppy before glancing to Shiro for answers.

"We have love but it's treated a little differently. Remember when you asked about our version of mates. How we had marriage to form our own way of a mate mark and how some just stayed dating or labelled as lovers. We have those friends with benefits and so many other ways that two people could be together. While some believe in soulmates and true love, finding it and keeping it something different. Some just stay with the one person they're happy to spend the rest of their life with" Shiro explained with a small smile as he looked to Pidge who just stared at him for a couple seconds before turning towards Krolia.
