Marinette's POV

"But why Mar, why do it?" Alya questioned pleadingly. I wanted to break up with Luka, because...well because I can't help lying to him that I'm Ladybug, but it gets deeper than that. First, he has no eyelashes (which is hilarious actually I never realised until two days ago). Secondly, he's now a criminal in the eyes of the Parisians law after stealing from our bakery, and thirdly, he dyed his hair YELLOW! YELLOW, OF ALL COLOURS! It literally makes me want to puke, no word of a lie. I know, I know, they say don't judge people for the way they look, but this has to be classed as an exception. Luka HAS changed personality-wise too, you know. It almost seems  like he's happy that he's a criminal, just like his Dad.

"Mar! MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG!"

"Oops, sorry Alya!" There I went again, zoning out. Another reason why I had to break up with Luka.

"Look, Alya, I'm breaking up with Luka and that's final. Just because we're friends does not mean that I am obliged to tell you anything and EVERYTHING, OK?! Could you just STOP bothering me and leave me be for once?! Stop with the whole, "Why are you breaking up with Lukaaaa" and "Go and tell Adrien you like him for once" because it's not on!"

I stopped dead. I had just startled everyone in the cafeteria and my bestest friend was close to tears. When I finally screwed up the courage to speak, all I could manage was, "If you were a real friend, you wouldn't ask any more questions."

It seemed like she heard, because she then stood up (Nino sheepishly standing up with her), and screeched, "Well, if YOU were a real friend, MAAAAARINETTE, you would tell me what on earth is going on in this marluka RELATIONSHIP!!!" And with that, she and Nino stormed off, leaving the people in the cafeteria even more shocked. Literally everyone in our school knows how close I am to Alya, and now it's like I have no one beside me. Just me, myself and I. Adrien thinks I'm weird and goofy, Nino hates me because Alya hates me,  and Kagami - well - she's just Kagami I guess.

Just when I thought things couldn't get ANY WORSE, Lie-la (yes THAT IS WHAT I CALL HER, because that girl is a PATHOLOGICAL LIAR) came up to me and put her arm round me. YES! Her arm! And you wanna know what that sly girl said: " Marrrr! I think it's time you came over to my house! We NEED to talk!! And she gave me that horrid grin that meant one word. TROUBLE.

As quickly as I could, I slapped her arm off my shoulder, looked her in the eye and said, " LILA! I'M NOT COMING OVER TO YOUR HOUSE AND TURNING INTO A LIAR LIKE YOU!"

Honestly speaking, I couldn't take it all anymore. The pathetic drama and..ugh! The world started to whirr around me, things getting fuzzy, sounds fading and suddenly all I could see was black. I don't remember anything else until i heard a familiar voice shouting my name.

"Marinette! Please Nino try and get on the line to the ambulance service please!"

"I'm trying, I'm trying!"

My eyes fluttered open and , relieved, Alya hugged me tightly for what seemed like years until she finally let go. Tears streamed down my face as she said: "Mar, I'm so so sorry. I must have been stressing you out big time for this to happen! You were right, if I was a real friend, I would have respected your thoughts and I wouldn't have questioned you any further, but of course my stupid self did! I realise that now and I'm ready to change!"

Silence filled the huge cafeteria, Alya's words echoing throughout. Finally mustering up the strength to speak, I said: " Alya, I was wrong, it-it-it was in the moment. You deserve to know everything and I will tell you but we have to go somewhere else. I can't tell you here, in front of everyone. C'mon."

Nino pulled me up and Alya, him and I walked out of school and to the Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie (my parents' bakery) and climbed up straight to the attic before my Dad could even ask us if we wanted any macaroons, however I did give him a quick wink before we went up. Alya bounced onto my bed and Nino took a seat at my desk, giving the tikki doll a quick glance before turning to face me. And there, in the middle of the room, I spilled everything, that Luka was a criminal etc etc.

"OHHHH THAT LUKA IM GONNA-"

" NO Alya!" I screamed. I sighed then said :" Alya, Nino, you can't show any signs that I told you all this ok?"

"Ok Mar," Alya said.

"Ok Dudette, chill out man."

"Thank you," I whispered.

Soon after, Alya and Nino left and it was up to me to make the final decision. I had told Luka to meet me outside the Agrestes' house at 6:15pm, planning to break up with him there, but that was a stupid venue. I couldn't do anything about it then though. At 6:08pm on the dot, I raced out of the house and to the Agrestes' place, where Luka was waiting.

"Well, you're here early!" I say with some eagerness in my voice.

"Yeah, when you said to meet up, you sounded...desperate."

"Yeah."

There was silence for a while until he said, "So what did you want to talk about?"

I inhaled. "Luka, I don't know how to say this but..."

I stopped dead. Was this the right decision? All the thoughts of Luka's faults rushed into my head and budged me to continue.

"We have to break up." Tears started to appear in his eyes, and it felt like all the warmth was drifting slowly out of his body, but I had to let go. I just had to. I had other plans for the future and the only thing that would have been holding me back was Luka Couffaine.

"I'm sorry! I really am!"

But I don't think he heard, because he had already turned on his heel and started walking off back to his house, not looking back.

I trudged back, and just as I thought that was that, I SAW ADRIEN together with KAGAMI in an alleyway beside his house. I hid by the side and managed to hear:

"Kagami, there's so many things we have together in common, and I have really enjoyed your presence-"

"Amazing," Kagami said, "So what are you trying to say Adrien?" Her eyes narrowed.

"I'm saying that your excellent and all -"

"GET TO THE POINT!"

"Sorry, sorry! I'm saying that we need to break up!"

The same shock that I saw on Luka's face appeared on Kagami's face, and as I turned the corner to run back home, I heard the sound of sobbing and footsteps in the distance. Nothing in the world was going right for me in this part of life, and I just had to take it like that. What's done has to be done.
