Laura opened the door to her sisters, cousins and young friends (Santana and Brittany, Karen and Mari). "Hey!"
"Hey!" They waved.
"Come in!"
They came inside and saw that not much was different in the foyer because things were still a startling white but with dark brown accents. "Ooh!"
Laura took them all around. Most everything was done. They'd changed the art studio to the glam room and made a mancave for Marc and the boys in the trophy room. The bedrooms upstairs were redone.
She and Marc took over the master and all the heavy lifting was done but it still needed the little touches to make it homey.
Speaking of little touches, the boys' nursery was build but not put together so they were bunking with the irritable Maddie.
The girls started in there and began putting together a nursery little boys would love. Then they did a new nursery for the new baby that Laura was hoping was a girl.
After, they made up the other two rooms to be guests then concentrated on other areas of the house before going to hit the master last.
It was getting cooler (being late October and all) so they wrapped the bed in warm brown and white sheets and covers. Marcy threw on a fall comforter.
Lisa happily tossed on pillows but Maddie straightened them out to look nice.
They put plants everywhere with books and magazines, straightened out the sitting area and redid the whole closet.
Then they moved Maddie out of her little room and into a guest. The room was painted black and laid empty because Laura wanted to have another playroom for the kids upstairs. Until then, it would sit empty.
Laura swiped at the black paint marring her creamy cheek. "How is everyone?"
They murmured good because they were too tired to say how they really felt.
Marcy crossed her legs and sat up from where she'd been lying on the floor. "I think it's time."
"Time for what?" Mercedes was laying down herself.
"To adopt."
"Why?"
"I keep getting all these signs."
"You don't believe in signs." Karen pointed out.
"I don't believe in being ignorant either. I'm getting signs."
"What kind?" Quinn wanted to know.
Marcy told them about the signs she'd been getting for honestly over a year.
"What if you're pregnant?" Brittany worried.
"I took a blood test just to make sure." Marcy shook her head. "I'm not."
Laura stared, dumbfounded. "You can't get a child. You have so many."
"Someone needs me."
Laura's heart melted. Marcy wasn't the most caring but when she cared, it was the most. "Where are you going to go to adopt?"
"I don't think I want an American kid."
"Why not?" Santana questioned.
"We're weird enough. No American kid is going to want immigrant parents."
"We're not weird." Mercedes reached over to swat Marcy's hand. "But I understand. I've been hearing music in my olive dreams."
"Me too." Laura and Quinn admitted.
