Eddie realised he was alone. Alone in the pitch black of an airade shelter. Shaking with the amount of adrenaline coursing through his veins. Tears silently trickled down his ash covered face, but he refused to wipe them away.
After what Eddie thought was a lifetime silence eventually came. Summoning up all the courage he could muster he shakily took the knob of the door in his hand and opened it.
The sight that surrounded his vision was horrendous. Standing there in his state of shock, he didn't notice the two German Messerschmits 109 circling the area. Unfortunatley since Eddie was standing out in the middle of the destruction of his home town, he was easily spotted by the pilots in the planes above. The sound of the planes skimming through the air broke Eddie from his trance. His head shot up at the noise, as the Messerschmits came into veiw, he started to run as fast as he could to beat them to the airade shelter. Even if he ran as fast as he could he knew he wouldn't make it.
When the Messerschmits were as close as they could get they released their bombs. Eddie was only a few feet away from the airade shelter when the bombexploded on the rubble of the already destroyed buildings. The force of the power in the bomb sent Eddie soaring into the airade shelter, slamming the door locked before the flames destroyed everything. Landing with a sickening 'BANG!', Eddie was rendered unconscious.
