Okay so this one I stumbled across when I was reading one of the Field Guides, the section about Brightpaw and Swiftpaw. They were trekking across their territory when they came to the spot where he giant dogs housed themselves. Here it is:
The smell near Snakerocks was strange- fierce and dark. I slowed down, but Swiftpaw kept running. "Swiftpaw!" I hissed as he scrambled over a fallen tree. "Be careful!"
"Don't worry!" he called back. "There's nothing here!" Just as he said that, a huge shape flew out of the cave and fastened slavering jaws around Swiftpaw's throat.
And that's the end of Swiftpaw, you probably know the rest, but for those who don't, you have to read the stories...
Think that's pretty odd last words... "Don't worry! There's nothing here!" Obviously not.
