Chapter 21: New Clothes and Infiltration

The king wasn't lying to me.

"I'm just glad that it wasn't actually you guys," I decided to change to subject, "Moving on from that. I asked the man while he was being controlled where they were keepin the princess. He said something about the old ones. Does that bring any ideas?"

"There is some Old ones ruins a bit more east in a cave at the base of the mountain." He responded.

"Then we'll be taking our leave if you don't mind." I bowed and left.

"Well I guess that's that I have some personal business to take care of here, Millenia doesn't need to get involved here so any of you who don't want to take part can leave," I started walking away then looked at everyone and they were following me.

"Are you sure?" I questioned.

They nodded.

"Thank you."

Now that I think about it I might need to get some new clothes that I can enchant if I am going to fight against a god/Arch or Fallen angel, I thought to myself, I wonder if Uncle Tay's brother still has his shop over at the next town. He does make some good clothes. It wouldn't hurt to stop by, I grinned.

"So we got our first clue. What do you want to do now?" asked Skylark.

I pointed at my clothes and he nodded.

"Okay Skylark and I are going into the next town. While you guys can try and gather info about the cave but don't go inside. We'll meet up again at the city near the cave." I held out my wrists.

"Why can't we come with you?" Aegis and Asurmaru placed their hands onto the Astral bracelets.

"You guys would be able to help them gather info. I am just going to do a little digging on something else for a bit." Asurmaru sighed and we went our separate ways.

"So then Skylark. Where are the others or other rings, I'm assuming your friends after in the same type of catalyst as you, right? I was able to see marks on your ring. There two others aren't there." I asked He sighed.

"I don't know but I know I miss them." His tail dropped down.

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure we'll find them eventually." He nodded.

A little bit after I had called him, Storm appeared out of nowhere. I mounted him and Skylark jumped onto my shoulder. We managed to reach the town by nightfall.

"Well let's see if there are any stores that sells any book that'll prove useful." We looked through every single store that was open but there wasn't anything on Skylark.

We were able to find a single book about the cave the king told us about but it was a bit torn. I bought it, got a strange look from the shopkeeper, and went to a nearby inn then I got us a room. I lied down on the bed immediately upon entering the room and took out the book. I placed my swords next to me. Then I started reading the book. Only one part of the whole book really caught my eye.

"An old ones research lab among the many that are out there one is located at the base of Heavens Mountain. Currently only one map of the inside exists." I opened the book to where the page was torn and preseneted infront of us, "And it seems someone has already gotten ahead of us and taken the map."

Skylark got off my lap.

"That's unlucky but labs huh? I wonder if that's where they are creating Skabelse there. But then why take the princess." I chuckled softly, but I felt a shiver down my spine.

"So the princess really is nothing but bait like before, the basic princess kidnapping troupe like the fairytales." I took out a piece of paper and a pen I went over to a desk.
