Chapter 37: Cathedral Second Floor

I stared at my hands.

"Why?" Julie said.

"Many reasons. Some being that people held a grudge towards the name. Maybe because I stole their spotlight or some used the name for something." I answered.

"That still shouldn't mean you should turn your back against it." I smiled.

"I guess you're right." I looked at my hand again.

"But there are other reasons I can't tell anyone else." There was a faint glow in front of us and grew brighter until a cathedral appeared.

The sound of bells rang in my ears.

I looked at Julie.

"Seems it wasn't a church. Let's head back." Julie nodded.

We went back and woke everyone up. Once we returned to the Cathedral there was already Skabelse guarding the church.

"That was fast." There was about 10 Skabelse outside.

"Did Oizys know we were coming?" Nolan asked.

"Maybe." I remembered the crystal I shattered in Peter's room.

"Can Oizys spy on us using them?" I mumbled.

I closed my eyes and memorized the patterns of the Skabelse inside as well as the ones outside.

"So what's the plan?" Nolan asked.

I pointed at the bell.

"I have a plan but it's a bit risky. First we take out the four patrolling the surrounding area. Then we take out the two in the front loud enough for the two inside to come out." I explained.

"Once that down open the doors to make it look like we got inside. The ones who come to check outside from inside should see the body's in time then they will start searching the first floor." I continued.

"Judging by the structure and age it seems to have a second floor. Which is pretty amazing, anyways. We can reach it by going through the space under the bell. We probably will have 30 minutes before they will start searching the second floor. We can head there afterwards." I lowered my hand.

"We can search the rest of the place from there." I added.

"How do you know if this plan will work?" Mari asked

"Just trust me. This plan is basically a large gamble. There's something important to Oizys inside. If we get found out then Oizys might come back." I replied.

"So any questions?" I looked at everyone.

"What if Oizys does come?" Julie asked.

"We would have to run because we have Mari so I'll keep her occupied while you guys do that." I sighed.

"In other words we can't fail this." I shrugged.

"I am guessing that's all the questions." I got up and smiled.

"Let's start." Me and Skylark with Mari onto top of him, jumped onto the roof above the two near the door.

Nolan and Julie killed the ones on the right. Asurmaru and Aegis killed the ones on the left. I jumped down and cut one in half and grabbed the other, then threw him to the wall and killed them. I opened the door and used my hook to get back on the roof. Two Skabelse came out and shrieked. I closed my eyes and the Skabelse were running amok on the first floor. I smiled and pointed at the bell. Skylark returned to his pup form and I caught her. We jumped down through the space. I set Mari down and Skylark jumped off my shoulder.
