Eliza POV:
I begged Alex to come to my parents Cabin for the weekend.
"Eliza, your dad hates me and you know it!" Alex complained.
"You will be fine Alex." I responded, avoiding correcting him because he was right. My dad does have him but only because they just can't agree on anything. And the part where Alex dumped me for someone else then came back to me.. I guess my dad hasn't forgiven him for that but I have so it's fine.
I packed the last of my clothes and zipped my suitcase.
"Why do we need to pack again?" He asked carefully.
"Because we're going to my parents cabin up north!" I said kinda upset that he forgot what I told him 20 minutes ago.
"Ok ok sorry!" He says, zipping up his suitcase.
We brought our suitcases down to Alex's car and he put both in the back.
Alex got into the drivers seat and I got into the passenger seat. He started driving after typing in the address into the GPS. I connected my phone to the car through Bluetooth and started playing show tunes from Beetlejuice, Mean Girls, Newsies and Dear Evan Hansen.
Alex and I did a few duets to Say My Name, Something to Believe in, Only Us and Sincerely Me. It was a lot of fun to be our goofy selves again. And since the car ride was 5 hours long, it was a great way to spend quality time. Ew that sounded like it came out of a cheesy fanfiction.
After about an hour of listening to musicals, Alex turned down the volumes when Dead Mom came on.
That's understandable. I thought to myself.
We sat in an awkward silence for a few minutes until Alex spoke up.
"Soooo....is it gonna be just us at the cabin?" He said with a smirk.
"ALEXANDER NO!" I yelled at him and slapped his arm. "And no my parents and sisters will be there too so we're not alone and doing that."
He sighed and turned the music back up. Revenge Party was playing so we started singing along and kinda dancing in our seats.
After the third hour in the car, we made a quick pit stop to fill up on gas and get some snacks. "I thought I told you to fill up before we left." I said.
He shrugged. "Guess I forgot."
I sighed and went into the little shop to get coffees and candies.
"Eliza we don't need king sized skittles!" Alex complained again.
"These are for me and if you want some you may have some." I said as I paid for everything. He nodded and we went back to the car for the last 2 hours of our road trip.
...
And hour later we were still listening to musicals but switched to Heathers.
I had a blast singing Candy Store since it wasn't in my nature to be mean like them but when Dead Girl Walking came on, Alex kept trying things but all his petty attempts failed.
With only an hour left in our road trip, I started to pack up everything we had unpacked. (Sweaters, blankets, snacks, etc.)
Alex laughed a bit when I couldn't fit in blanket back into the bag but he couldn't either.
We eventually made it to the cabin after Alex made a few too many wrong turns but we're here in one piece and that's what counts.
The only thing I'm hoping is that he gets along with my family, maybe with an exception for my dad. I can't even get along with him. But I hope Alex gets close to my family... but not too close to
Angelica.
