Chapter 1: Broken down

I slip out of bed at exactly 5am and trudge across the room. I walk into my bright blue bathroom, and turn on the shower knob to warm. I plug in my old 1950's radio, and sit on the toilet, waiting for my shower to warm up.

I'm a 15 year old girl who spends most her time in her bathroom dragging a razor against the skin along my wrist. I have no friends and everyone hates me. My parents couldn't give a care about me. I'm a worthless waste of space, that doesn't belong here.

My shower door starts to get foggy so I hop in. The warm water tingles along my pale skin and I duck my tangled mess you call my hair under the shower head to soak my hair. I grab the half-empty shampoo bottle and squirt I dim amount in my hand. I lift my hands up and massage the shampoo in my hair.

My shower starts to get cold, so I hurry up and do all my other deeds that a teenage girl does in the shower. I step out and grab the dark purple towel on the rack. I dry off every part of my body, and apply slim makeup to my bloodless face. I run out of the bathroom, grab closes off of the dresser, and change real quick. I need to get to school before the others.

I grab my orange Jansport backpack, and head out my bedroom door. I'm about 6'9 and have to duck my head when I walk through a door because the door frames are to low for me to walk under. I walk into the small white kitchen, where my younger brother sits at the breakfast table, eating Cheerios, and scrabbled eggs. I stride over to the pantry, and grab a protein bar, and walk out the door.

My parents know I leave at 6 every morning so there's no need to say good bye. I walk down the street to the nearest bus stop, stand their and wait for my bus down-town to arrive.

I go to an Arts Magnet school. Kids that can sing, dance, act, and draw come to this school. I go there because i have drawing, and writing talent, and because my parents can't afford private school, and thought a magnet school was pretty close.

Life for me here at Washington Magnet High School is living hell. Kids push and shove me around the hall ways calling me names, making jokes, and pulling devilish pranks on me.

The bus pulls up to the stop, and me and an elderly woman board on the bus. I toss a nickel in the slot, and slump down in the nearest seat I can find. I rummage through my backpack, and pull out my black iPhone 4s, untangle my candy rock head-phones, and jab the ear buds into my ear. I put on a claiming song, and look out the window.

In no time the buss driver is pulling up at the city bus stop across from my school. I get off, and walk my way across the street. I walk up to the main entrance, and go throughs the metal detectors, and slide into my biology class at 7:30. Perfect timing. I can avoid everyone.

Chapter 2: Someone New

Everyone comes gliding into the class room talking about sports, celebs, other things. The 3 most popular girls come walking in gossiping about the recent sex going on. I slouch down in my chair, and but my head in my desk. They walk past me, not even noticing me. Good.

My teacher walks in and sets down his brief case. He's young, and girls try to flirt with him. He's alright. I don't take interest in him. He looks up, and pushes his glasses up to the top of his nose.

"Alright class, today we are going to talk about our new project coming up. You and a partner will each rece...", he stops mid-sentence as a dark haired boy, who looks weirdly familiar comes barges in. "What do you need? You are disrupting my class." My teacher spits out. "I'm Josh Hutcherson..," everyone quickly whips their heads around and give a screech of excitement. He give the smallest of smiles. "Im new here. My schedule says my first period is room 153 Biology, Mr. Hedrick." My teacher gives a loud grunt.

"Well class, looks like we have a superstar going our class." Mr. Hedrick projects loudly. I see Josh's cheeks turn a light pink. "Have a seat next to Destiny." He shoves is pointer finger in my direction. Crap.

Josh walk-runs over to my table, and sits next to me. "Hi! My name is Josh. I'm guessing your name is Destiny?" He says with a little to much enthusiasm. I just slip my earbuds in my ears, and cover my head with my black hoodie. I look at Mr. Hedrick, so he thinks I'm paying attention, and jam out to the Civil wars.

Josh taps my shoulder, and I look his way. He indicates to my ears, and I yank out my ear buds. "What?" I sneer. "Do you want to be partners with me for the biology project?" He beams. I look around the class room nervously. Everyone will want be his partner, and they'll hate me even more if I partner up with him. "Uh, don't you want to be partners with someone who takes better interest in you?" I say quietly. "I'd rather have someone who doesn't take interest in me, than someone who drools on me 24-7." He says. I hesitate for a moment. No one else is going to be my partner, and I need to pass this class. "Fine." I say with a tone that makes his smile drop a little. "Great!" He beams.

The bell rings and I make my way to the class room door. Everyone starts to crowd around Josh, asking him if he wants to be partners with them for the project. I here Taylor, one of the popular girls, ask, and him saying that he's partners with me. I see Taylor shot a angry glance at me. I turn and shuffle my way to my second class.
