Dear, Diary.

It's me again- John. My tummy is in all sorts of knots. It's all his fault. I can't contain my feelings for him anymore- but he's my best friend- he can't know. He left four hours ago and the feeling just won't go. I lied to him about everything. I didn't lose my job or my place in the squad- I gave them up because I couldn't focus because of him. The scores on my test were bad- I've always been useless at maths. To top it all off I broke up with my botfriend Colin- My friends knew him as Kayleigh all I wanted now was Rocky. It was worse because all I can think about is his eyes, hair, smile. His EXISTENCE. don't know what anybody would say if they knew about me. About me being gay!!!

The battery on my laptop was getting low. I plugged the charger in and sat down again and I started smiling. Suddenly, I heard a loud crash from out in the hallway and half closed the lid of my laptop. My door swung open, almost falling off it's hinges. My dad staggered into the room, the smell of vodka exuting from him.

"What are you doing," he slurred.

I stood up and hopped from one foot to the other. "Nothing, Dad," I stammered. "How was your trip?"

"Bloody fantastic," he said sarcastically. "same as always." He swayed to and fro. It made me nauseous. "But, seriously, what the hell are you doing." He asked again wandering toward my laptop. I ran toward it and pulled the cord from my laptop but there was enough charge in that short space to hold enough energy for five minutes at least. Dad opened the laptop in his hands. His eyes widened and I watched as my laptop fell the few feet to the hardwood floor below. I lurched forward to catch it but, as the expensive tech was almost in my hands, it smashed on the floor. He kicked it like a ragdoll and threw his hands around my neck. They were held there for what seemed like eternity. A lifetime without breathing.

"Get off me!" I yelled. Roma was already asleep, I feared I might wake her. I also feared that I might die at the hands of my own Dad. I was knocked off my feet by an unexpected blow to my stomach. I tried crawling to the door. He staggered and kicked my face and I could instantly feel the bruise on my face begin to form. Tears fell from my eyes and I began crawling further out the room I heard my mums radio play in her room and I knocked on her door. She opened the door and fell into a pool of tears at my disastrous sight. Blood fell from my eye and I looked like a hunchback. I pulled myself from the ground and tried to climb down the stairs slipping a few and I opened the door. I walked along the quiet road almost collapsing every few steps. The woods were nearby and I knew the shortcut through the woods would lead me to Rocky's place. I took little steps. The trees began to fade into the darkness around me. Suddenly, the floor below me disappeared and I landed in a heap on the ground.  The pain inside me became numb and all feeling was gone. The blood still dripped and the bruises still ached. Then, slowly, the world around me faded into darkness.
