Chapter 16
"Good morning," I said as I walked inside Vic's car the following morning. Mike smiled back at me before I briefly looked at Vic. His lips twitched into a small smile but I kept my focus on Mike because I was afraid I would blush any moment.
After everything that happened yesterday, I have admitted to taking a liking to Vic but I didn't know why exactly. I barely know anything about him but somehow he attracts me. A possibility is that it's just more of the physical side of him that attracts me, but I feel that it isn't. I would hope not but I guess time will clarify that.
When we got to school, I walked closely with Mike and Vic just a bit behind us. Just because I had admitted to my attraction towards him doesn't mean I'm okay with being right next to him. I felt like a schoolgirl that was afraid to talk to her crush. Although I wouldn't consider him a crush, or would I?
Either way, I could feel myself getting nervous every time I knew he was looking at me. It would be even worse when I looked at him in the eye. The heat would rush to my cheeks and my heart beat raced.
Although, there is no way to explain what I felt yesterday. The way his lips felt against mine was a sensation I could never describe. I knew the kiss had no sentimental meaning, but it did light up something inside me. Maybe after all it really was just sexual attraction to Vic.
Today's classes bored me out of my mind but something kind of quirked my day. At lunch time, while I was sitting I received a note from Vic. He had asked me at what time my mom would be home. I had replied saying a little after 7:30. When I looked at him, I just saw a smug look on him.
To whatever this was, intrigued me for the rest of the day. I found it amusing how we had communicated with a simple piece of paper and not by text or even verbally. Now that I think about it, I don't even have his number. My suspicions would soon be cleared though.
"You can ride shotgun," Vic said when I reached his car after school.
"Isn't Mike coming?" I asked.
"Nah, he uh, took a ride with Jaime," Vic said putting on his black shades.
Once again, he looked amazingly hot with those sunglasses. I don't know what it was about them that made him much more attractive.
"Oh," I said acting as if everything was okay. I mean, I will be riding in the same car alone with this attractive fucker.
"So, how was your day?" Vic casually asked once the car was started. My eyebrows raised a bit in confusion since this was something Vic would not really say. Not even to his own brother.
"Um, it was alright I guess. Nothing special about it. What about, uh, yours?" I said trying my best to not sound so awkward.
"Like any other day but it seems to get better by the second," he said leaving me to wonder what he was talking about.
"Oh, well that's good I guess."
"You bet," he replied.
My concern for why he had asked me about my mom during lunch had left but soon returned when I realized we were driving towards somewhere else. As time passed, we reached deeper into the city.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"I don't know, you tell me. Where do you want to go eat?" I was taken back by his words but he just shrug like it was nothing.
"What do you mean?"
He rolled his eyes at my comment and chuckled. "Choose a place so we can like, 'eat' food."
