Regina sat alone in Granny's diner, sipping her cup of coffee, waiting patiently for her son, Henry, to come meet her. Well, he wasn't actually her son, she had adopted him sixteen years before.

Regina Mills wasn't an ordinary young woman. She was actually the Evil Queen from the story Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. In order to destroy her stepdaughters happiness, Regina decided to cast a dark, evil curse, which sent all the fairytale characters living in the Enchanted Forest to a modern town called Storybrooke, where time was non existent.

All the fairytale characters were given new names and identities, and had completely forgotten about their fairytale lives. Regina was mayor, and everything she wanted, happened just like that. Eighteen years after the curse had been placed Regina adopted a young baby, and named him Henry, after her father, who had died. Everything was perfect, and it stayed that way for twenty eight years.

Until an unexpected visitor appeared in her bright yellow car. She was called Emma Swan, and she was the real mother of Henry, and the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, though she did not know her real parents at the time. Henry had ran away and found Emma, and told her about her family, and that her parents had put her in a magical wardrobe to save her from the curse. Emma, of course, didn't believe a word of Henry's story, and took him back to Regina.

However, after returning Henry home, Emma found Storybrooke an unusual town, with strange citizens, a suspicious mayor, and a clock where the hands never changed time! Eventually the curse was broken by Emma, and everyone remembered their fairytale lives. Emma found her parents, and stayed in Storybrooke with them.

Six years had passed, and everyone had eventually forgiven Regina.

Regina had short black hair and was often seen wearing either a grey suit or a black suit. Though today she was wearing jeans and a plain white blouse. She took another sip of her coffee as she glanced out of the window, waiting for Henry.

Suddenly she saw the familiar yellow car pull up at the front of the diner, and Emma and Henry climbed out.

Emma had blonde hair and was wearing her usual jeans and red leather jacket, and Henry had black hair and was also wearing jeans, with his black coat and grey and red stripy scarf, and his backpack on his back.

They walked into the diner.

"Hi mom," Henry smiled.

"Hi honey," Regina placed her cup on the saucer and kissed Henry on the top of his head.

"Four thirty, not a moment later," Emma said, looking at the clock on the wall as she adjusting her sheriff badge on the side of her belt. "You happy, Regina?"

Regina glared at Emma. "Quite. Thank you Swan, for returning my son in one piece."

Emma rolled her eyes. "I'm going back home. Is Henry staying at yours tonight, Regina?" She asked.

"Yeah, I am thanks mom," Henry replied. Regina smiled, but tried not to let it show. She would do anything to annoy Emma.

Emma shrugged. "Sure. Make sure your mom drops you off at about ten tomorrow." Emma hugged Henry and left the diner.

"So," Regina placed a five dollar bill on the counter. "Do you want to go back home?"

"Yeah, sure," Henry smiled.

Regina and Henry left Granny's diner and crossed the road to Regina's black car.

"Good afternoon," they heard a voice, and looked up to see Doctor Hopper, the former Jiminy Cricket, and Henry's old therapist (as everyone thought he was crazy about his story of them being fairytale characters) walking towards them, with his Dalmatian dog, Pongo.

"Hi Doctor Hopper," Henry said, bending down to stroke Pongo.

"Hi Henry," Dr Hopper smiled. "And hello, Regina."

"Good afternoon," Regina smiled.

"Lovely day, isn't it?" Dr Hopper commented.

"Yes, indeed it is."

They departed, and Henry and Regina got into the car. As Regina drove them home Henry reached into his back and brought out his story book of all the fairytale characters.

"Aren't you getting a little too old for that book?" Regina asked as she glanced at it.

"Mom, you can never be too old for a fairytale story," Henry replied, in a matter-of-fact voice, and Regina smiled.

"Besides, I enjoy reading it," Henry flipped to a random page and held it up to show his adopted mother. "Everyone needs a bit of magic."

Regina glanced at the page, and saw it was a page with Little Red Riding Hood and her Grandmother.

"Indeed, I think we do."

They pulled into the driveway of Regina's large house and they climbed out of the car.

"This is nice," Henry said.

"What is?" Regina asked.

"Just life in Storybrooke," Henry shrugged. "No more evil villains planning an attack on us, no crazy visitors popping up, no villains threatening to destroy evening we hold dear...it's just like we have a normal, peaceful life."

Regina smiled, put her arm around Henry's shoulder as they walked inside.

But Henry may have spoken too soon, as at the edge of Storybrooke all seemed calm, until a small green light appeared, floating in mid air. Slowly the light expanded, and grew, until it was finally a huge, mass of blue, green and purple light and smoke spinning around each other uncontrollably, flinging sparks everywhere.

A portal.

Suddenly a young girl fell out of the portal and landed on the road on her stomach. She had blonde hair in several ringlets, however after falling through the portal they were slightly messy. She was wearing a white short sleeved top under her light green dress, which was covered in different coloured flowers. She was wearing smart black shoes, and a thread necklace with a whistle attached around her neck.

She lay on the ground for a minute, before finally saying, "...Owch." She stood up groggily, and dusted her dress down.

"Owch," she gasped again, as she noticed a huge cut on her right arm, from the fall. A drop off blood appeared. The girl closed her eyes, and waved her left hand over the cut.

And it disappeared.

The girl opened her eyes, examined the faded cut, and then looked at her surroundings

Has she come to the right place? All she saw was a long road, a red line behind her that went from one side of the road to the other, and a whole load of trees standing around the road.

After a few seconds she noticed something that answered her question: a sign on the side of the road.

She took a step closer and read it out loud. "Welcome to Storybrooke."

The young girl had come to the right place. Her eyebrows narrowed as she smiled.

"Storybrooke," she said quietly to herself. "Looks who's finally arrived."
