Alice stretched yawned then reburied herself in the soft bed and fluffy blanket. Listening to the sounds of the house the merry sound of children's laughter filled the air; unable to help herself Alice smiled. She loved that sound missing home (well Sammy's home) she never had any siblings always-wonted one but that was never to happen.

Alice switched on the shower washed then dress in her pants then looked at the tops thinking if kids where out side which would be better, choosing "BITE ME' Alice packed her bag. Pulled the sheets off folded them placing them on the ground then the towel she had used on top. Hoping that she had helped some how.

Alice held her bags on her left arm then moved into the hall pausing to look for the dog. The kitchen was in the back the reception to the front. Alice contemplated just run without breakfast. It didn't matter as she had paid already. Just then her stomach rumbled as she stepped towards the exit.

'Hay Alice just in time I was on my way to wake you breakfast is ready. Come on.' Julie motioned with her hand for Alice to follow. 'Don't mind the kids it's my day to look after them I send them outside so they don't disturb you.'

'It's ok they can stay I don't mind.' Alice said softy as she trudged after Julies long strides.

Inside the kitchen was a huge table that held six kids and an older lady. Other children ran in and out in a game of chase a small boy skittles past bumping Alice making her stumble backwards into the arms of a man twice her size.

'I'm so sorry.' Alice whispered quickly moving away as the man glared at her.

'Nice friend you have Julie.' The man snarled.

'Alice sit here.' she pulled the seat out next to her, then moved to the oven pulled out two plates putting one in front of her and the man giving her death stares across from her.

Alice looked at her plate it was huge there was no way she could eat it all. 'Uhm that's a lot.'

Julie laughed 'Just eat what you can and leave the rest.'

Alice dipped her head eating the scrabbled eggs and mushrooms eating only a little of the bacon. Alice sipped the coffee keeping her eyes down not wonting to see the man in front of her.

'What bring you to town?' The man just about growled at her.

'Just passing though.' Alice said the noise level dropped in the kitchen.

'You own a nice car outside I take it that the black ones yours.' He spat at her.

'Keith that's enough.' Julie said.

'It's not mine I am just kind of borrowing it.' Alice said to the table.

'When are you leaving?' Keith demanded.

'Now, thank you breakfast it was lovely.' Alice gathered her belonging clutching them tight to her.

Julie stretched out her hand to Alice who managed to keep out of her grasp. 'Sit Alice you have hardly touched anything, and Keith is just leaving.' Julie glared back at Keith.

'No no it's fine I need to go, thank you.' Alice spoke softy as she moved to the front of the house she could hear Julie yelling at Keith.

'What do you think your playing at Keith I told you to keep your mouth shut, she just a girl for Christ sake.' Julie clipped his ear run after Alice.

Alice had stepped out the door as Julie met her. 'Alice don't mind him he is always rude.' Julie called.

'It's ok Julie I seam to have that effect on most men actually.' Alice said looking at her, Alice's eye filled with unreleased tears. 'But could I ask where I could go to some cheap clothes and a small corner shop?' Alice asked.
