Young And Reckless (Matthew Espinosa)

Chapter 1

I woke up to my alarm, sad, I reached for my phone and turned it off. "Here goes nothing.." I mumbled to myself and dragged myself to the shower. I turned it on and took off my PJ's.

After my ten minute shower I got put my shirt on that said 'Zayyumm' and put my ripped skinny jeans on. I walked out of the bathroom and searched for my galaxy vans and my beanie that says 'Don't mess with me', I found it and raced downstairs. I ran into the kitchen it smelled like my moms home made pancakes. I grabbed two and ate them quick. I knew I'd be late if I didn't hurry.

"Thanks mom!" I said and gave her a hug.

"Your welcome, honey.. Remember dad and I won't be home when you get home." My mom said as I left the door.

This isn't anything new. My mom and dad worked until 9-11:30. So I'm usually alone. Nothing new, I kinda like it. It gives me a chance to relax and work on stuff.

I walked to the bus stop lost in my thoughts until someone started talking to me.

"Huh?" I said and looked up to see a girl with long blonde hair with a few purple streaks in her hair.

"I'm Nour, you must be new!" She said with a smile.

"Yeah, just moved here I'm Beth." I said tucking my hair behind my ear.

"Don't be nervous, you get used to the school after about a day. Just watch out for one person.. Matthew Espinosa.." Nour warned.

"Ok.." I said making a mental note to myself as the bus pulled up.

"Were one of the first bus stops so we get to pick where we sit." Nour said as she boarded the bus.

We ended up sitting towards the front with me sitting closer to the window.

"I hope we have classes together!" Nour said, breaking the silence.

The bus stopped and picked up some more kids. Nour just examined the kids then pointing to one.

"That's Matthew.." She whispered as he walked to the back of the bus.

"Really? He looks nice.. " I trailed off.

"Nope, the opposite." Nour finished just as the bus pulled up to the school.

"Keeping that note in mind." I said and followed her off the bus.

"Let's just say he's... Young and reckless." Nour said as she brought me to the office.

"So do I just tell her my name?" I asked Nour.

"Yup, I'll wait for you outside." She smiled then left.

"Hello there honey, what do you need?" The lady asked.

"Um I'm new, my name is Beth Peterson." I said shyly back.

"Beth Peterson.." She mumbled and searched through the drawer.

"Ah here we are.." She said as she pulled out a sheet of paper and handed it to me.

"Have a good day." She said back I smiled and nodded.

"Hey let me see your schedule." Nour said, I handed it to her and we smiled.

"We have four classes together!" She smiled ear to ear.

"Really? That amazing!" I said and she showed me to my locker.

"Look, you're the third locker away from me!!" She said then somebody walked in the way of my view of Nour, it was Matthew Espinosa.

"Oh yeah, did I mention Matt was in between us?" Nour asked as we walked off to home room.

"No, but I soon figured it out!" I said trying my hardest not to sound rude.

"Welllll... There's one more thing." Nour trailed off.

"Matt is in the classes we have together.." Nour said quietly.

"Oh.. Well we can ignore him." I said trying to look on the bright side.

We made our way to the classroom and we sat down. It was kinda close to the back but not really.

Me and Nour started talking then she became silent. I turned around and saw Matt and his gang. They sat down right by Nour and I. And of course the one and only Matthew Espinosa had to sit by me.

"Is he doing this on purpose?" I whispered to Nour and she handed me a piece of paper with her number on it. I typed it into my phone and we started texting each other.

B: why did he sit by me?!?!

N: idk, he usually sits in the back right corner, along with his posse

B: great, my first day and this already happening.

N: don't worry if he talks to you just ignore him!

B: I'll try my hardest.

That's when we stopped texting and payed attention to the board. I couldn't pay attention because Matt and his gang were laughing and talking. I huffed out a breath and tried to pay attention.

The teacher cleared her throat. "Mr. Espinosa are you paying attention?" The teacher asked.

He just nodded. I. Don't even know this child and I hate him! Thank god the bell rang or I would have gone crazy. I grabbed my books quickly as possible and waited for Nour out in the hallway.

"That was terrible! All they did was laugh and talk!" I said to Nour as we walked back to our lockers, to grab or books for science.

Of course Matt was in that class too. Just like what Nour had said. Since him and his posse were already there we sat as far away as we could. I was able to concentrate the whole class period.

The rest of the day was a blur, it was only Nour and I at our lunch tables. I didn't have any classes with Nour after lunch. That was terrible! When the final bell rang I ran to my locker grabbed my stuff and waited by Nour's locker.

"So how was your day?" Nour asked as she opened her locker.

"It was all a blur.. Since we didn't have any other classes together." I said as she finished putting her books in her bag.

She slammed her locker and we left.

"Where's the bus?" I asked.

"Gahhh... I always miss the bus! I guess we'll have to walk home."

"Uhh.." I trailed off.

Oh wait... You don't know where you house is." I nodded.

"What's your address?" Nour asked pulling up google maps on her phone. I gave her my address and we started walking.

"Hey, it turns out you're only a few blocks away from me!" Nour smiled.

"Well that's good!" I smiled then pulled out my phone.

Nour and I walked in silence all the way to my house.

"I'll see you tomorrow! Text me!" Nour said then ran down my street.

I unlocked my door, went inside and just threw my stuff down.

I really hope tomorrow is not like this... I thought to myself.

I went to the movie room and decided to watch The Walking Dead. That is my favorite show ever!!! I watched it until I eventually fell asleep..
