You twirled your pencil through your fingers. Between the index finger and middle finger, between the middle finger and ring finger, between the ring finger and pinky finger and all the way back around. It was a habit that you'd developed not too long ago. You'd twirl your pencil when you didn't need to use it or when you got bored. You looked up a video after seeing someone else do it in a different video. You weren't good at it and your pencil often slipped out of your fingers and fell to the floor, causing people to look back at you seeing as you had a bad habit of dropping your pencil.

You listened to what your teacher said, but you didn't write anything down. Whilst you had a habit of getting distracted, you were able to easily absorb what they said and then translate that into your assignments. You still wrote notes down because you used them when you got confused.

Near the end of class your teacher dove into a tangent about how if your class needed help, they just had to ask. Something of the sorts.

You never found yourself going to the teacher often. When you were a kid, your parents usually told you to figure things out yourself. That's what inspired your current learning style. Rather than asking your teacher, you'd try doing what you thought was right, and then if you were doing something wrong, you'd check your notes, correct whatever needed to be corrected, and if you really didn't understand something, you'd search the internet for it and if it came to it, then you'd ask the teacher. You learned better when you found the answer yourself. You didn't usually get the chance to ask someone for help.

The bell rang and students began to eagerly shove their books into their bags, standing up and leaving as soon as possible so they could go rev their engines or blast music in the parking lot. You were just as eager, but instead of going to the parking lot, you rushed out a different door, beginning to walk through town.

You lived in a very small town. It was generally calm, other than the odd tourist attractions. Traffic got a little heavy around school times, but that didn't bother you since you walked. The only hassle of the location of your school was that it was a good 20 minute walk away from the elementary school. You could turn that 20 minutes into 15 if you walked at the right pace. You saw little kids walking towards you, probably on their way home from school just as you were. Sadly, your siblings weren't old enough to walk home by themselves. Or maybe they should've been, but that didn't mean you'd let them. They were only in kindergarten after all. Seohyun and Seojun were confident that they could walk home alone, desperate to show how mature they were. Of course, you wouldn't let them. You felt like you still had a good couple of years of picking them up before you could let them walk home alone.

You strolled up to the school to see the two waiting by the bike racks. Seohyun had changed her hair slightly. Rather than the ponytail you'd put her hair in, she had a braid in her hair. Seojun's hair, on the other hand, was tousled and backpack was left open.

"How was school?" You asked, grabbing their attention.

"Jiwon taught me how to do braids!" Seohyun told her, her eyes wide as she looked for your reaction. She grabbed the braid that her hair was tied into and desperately tried to show you.

"Did you do that one?" You asked, pointing at the braid that she roughly pulled in your direction.

"I did!" She squealed, pleased with your reaction.

"And what about you Seojun? Did you do anything fun?" You asked, grabbing the both of their hands and beginning to walk.

"I read a lot," he shrugged.

"Do you want to show me at bed time? Maybe tonight, you can read me a story," you suggested with a small laugh.

He only gave you a shrug.
