"YOUR HIGHNESS!" General Bo trembled as she fought the relentless horde of stray power flowing from in front of her.

The Empress stood her ground against the bone shattering power. She turned to look at General Bo in the eyes and gave a smile.

General Bo was momentarily stunned, to see The Empress's smile was truly a rare sight. However, this smile did not make her feel secure at all. Everything in her body said that that smile was saying two things, "sorry" and "goodbye."

General Bo, "Your Highness, don't do anything rash, wait for the other generals! We can help you, there's got to be more than one way to stop this!"

Yao Yumi gazed at her subordinate through the silk fabric that hid the upper portion of her face. Her gaze was extremely gentle, as though she was looking at a child naive of the world.

Yao Yumi, "Even if there is another way, it will be too late. If we wish to save existence as we know it then we know what must be done."

Yao Yumi drowned out her subordinate's pleas and created an unbreakable barrier, encasing herself in the hall of fate. The strings which had once been tangling together and exploding with power, returned to the gentle and river-like flow after Yao Yumi channeled it's core.

But it is not the strings of fate she is after. Yao Yumi calmly walked past the strings and stepped on the extravagant platform behind it. As soon as her heel made contact with it, it lit up in a bright red glow.

Behind her, the frantic sound of someone banging on the barrier was audible. She did not look back, knowing that if she did, she would be met with a heart wrenching sight.

Yao Yumi made a series of beautifully performed hand signs, and soon three hundred red seals appeared all over Yao Yumi's body. She was covered in it.

The cries of General Bo, along with recently arrived General Hua Ji were all muffled by the impenetrable barrier.

The seals that had covered Yao Yumi's body sealed every inch of spiritual power that had once resided in her soul. This was the requirement for the sacrifice she was about to make.

She stepped forward slowly, and made her way to the center of the platform. As she walked she thought about her life.

Although I've lived longer than anyone, I've yet to do so much. And my generals, my dear generals. They'll break to pieces with just an insult, what's going to happen when I'm gone?

A sincere smile found its way onto her face as she held back tears. She would sacrifice herself so that people would still be able to love the people they love, and wake up each and everyday.

Yao Yumi stood in the center of the golden platform and without hesitation, she impaled her sharp nails into her chest, and grabbed her own heart.

It hurt like hell. Especially since she sealed her powers, her body was compatible with that of a mortals. A few pained whimpers left her mouth as she bit down hard on her lip, keeping herself from screaming in agony.

She ripped her heart out of her body and died on the spot. A powerful red light exploded out of her corpse and the power that had been scraping the knees of the generals dispersed.

The destruction of existence ceased at once. The barrier had shattered the moment Yao Yumi stopped breathing. General Bo and General Hua Ji rushed over as soon as the light disappeared and stared dejectedly at the corpse in front of them.

Yao Yumi had died standing proudly, with a smile that graced everything in its presence.

In the instant that Yao Yumi left the world, life let out a strangled cry. The world of the living knew what had happened as a feeling of dread encased their bodies for only an instance.
