As cliche as it sounds, being the new girl does suck. The bombarding of questions and the constant staring. It's as if I'm holding a flag above my head saying, "LOOK AT ME! NOTICE ME!" God, can't I have a normal first period without getting hammered with thousands of questions? Moving here was supposed to help with everything that had happened. I was supposed to be starting new.
Sam was my unconditionally, absolutely, one and only best friend. The love of my life, the apple to my eye, the smoke to my high. Like I said, I'm pretty cliche when it comes to thing that grinds my gears. Sam and I had dated all through middle school and till my last year of high school. It was a week before school was supposed to start when we got the call.
They had found Sam hanging from the tree by the dock we had our first kiss at. Amazing right? The police said it was suicide, that he had hung himself. I know my Sam, he was happy and full of life. He would have never done anything like this. So when I heard the news I thought they were playing a joke on me.
The tears that fell from my mothers eyes told me otherwise. I felt the wind knock out of me, my throat closed up and I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. All I wanted was to hide, and pretend that it was all just a terrifying nightmare. So far the nightmare has lasted more then two weeks and I want to wake up now.
I would do anything to be in his arms again, all I want is to see him smile, feel his lips on mine, his voice telling me that everything will be okay. Forgetting Sam would be like forgetting how to breathe, impossible.
