Best Mistake Part Two

Nash freezes and then relaxes completely, he shoots his mother an easy smile.

"I just wanted a late night snack and then I decided to go outside on the deck to eat it and marvel at God's creation. The Milky Way looks so amazing in the still of the night. I'm so blessed to know that somewhere up there God is looking down watching over us." Nash feels like he deserves an Oscar for the performance he just gave.

His mother smiles proudly at him. "You always were such a sensitive soul, Nash. I'm so proud of you and your close relationship with God."

She beckons him to her and he finishes climbing the steps and wraps his arms around her tightly.

He feels a pang of guilt but it doesn't last long when he realizes that they forced him into this position by being so repressed and strict.

They part and he presses a sweet kiss on her cheek before he pulls away and walks to his room. He takes off his shoes and jeans and climbs into bed.

"Tell me everything," Hayes says and makes Nash jump, he didn't realize that his younger brother was awake.

Nash recounts his entire experience while Hayes listens carefully. He's living vicariously through Nash, his own crush doesn't even know he exists.

"That sounds so amazing, Nash. I'm happy for you." He says sincerely and Nash smiles in the darkness.

He falls into an easy sleep with dreams of Cameron and his golden brown eyes.

The next morning the two siblings are in the kitchen eating their breakfast before the long church service. Nash woke up early and sent Cameron a few messages before he had to get up and get ready for church.

He wants to go up and check to see if Cameron responded but he knows he probably won't be able to get away. He resigns himself to wait until after their long day is over to check his phone without interruption.

A few hours later they're finally reaching the end of the mind numbing church b service. Nash doesn't know how he's going to survive another year of this same routine, especially when he now has someone to look forward to.

When they are finished eating their lunch Nash excuses himself to his room and Hayes follows after him. He lies in bed and picks up his cell phone, he has a few messages from Cameron.

♡Cammy♡- I want to see u ASAP. How am I supposed to wait until tonight?

♡Cammy♡- How long is this church service? Time is crawling by.

♡Cammy♡- I really need to see u before tonight. I'm honestly contemplating showing up to this church.

♡Cammy♡-omfg I got there too late. It was already finished. Jfc. Fml.

♡Cammy♡- text when ur able

Nash's insides turn into a puddle when he reads that Cameron actually showed up to church because he wanted to see him and couldn't wait until that night.

Nash-service starts at 8am and usually ends at 2pm then my family has lunch from 2 to 3, then I'm usually free afterwards.

Nash-it's a long boring tedious day.

Nash-but u gave me the feels when u said u showed up to church just to see me. Like how am I supposed to function until I can see u?

It doesn't take long for Cameron to answer Nash's text

♡Cammy♡- I was super salty when I got there and everyone was leaving like wtf what is life.

Nash giggles at his reply.
