It was the last day of Term 1 and Rosie was chasing after her friend Max in year 7 who had just stolen her basketball and wouldn't give it back. "Give me back my basketball!" yelled Rosie as she ran after Max. "Come get it off me!" Replied Max laughing.

Her friend Mia was sitting over with her other year 7 friend John. Rosie was starting to catch up to Max when all of a sudden he turned around and kicked the ball hitting Rosie in the nose knocking her out.

Rosie fell to the floor as blood started dripping from her nose onto the grass. Mia said to Max "Stay here with Rosie while I go get a teacher."

Mia headed to the office and said "My friend got hit in the nose by a basketball and is unconscious on the ground bleeding from her nose." One of the teachers followed Mia to the oval where Rosie was lying still unconscious.

They tried waking her up but that wasn't working. She still wasn't responding, so they stopped the bleeding and decided to carry her to the office so she could rest.

Meanwhile, another teacher asked Max what happened "I didn't mean to hurt her. We were playing around and I took her basketball. She was chasing after me to get it back and then I kicked it and accidentally hit her in the nose. I wouldn't do it on purpose because I like her." said Max worried about Rosie.

Rosie ended up getting picked up by her mum and taken home to rest and Mia headed to her last class of the day.

~3 Weeks Later~
(After the school holidays)

It was the first day of term 2. Rosie and Mia were still friends, but Rosie was starting to hang out with her BFF Cain who she met on Orientation Day back in year 6.

The day went by and nothing fun happened at school. The girls didn't sit with Max and John at recess and lunch, instead, they sat in the library with Cain listening to music and catching up on homework.

After school, while Rosie was walking home like she always does, she could hear someone calling her name "Rosie slow down, wait!" After a while, she finally turned around and saw it was Max running after her.

"Calm down and catch a breath. What do you want Max?" Said Rosie confused why Max was chasing after her. "I I," said Max as he tried to catch his breath. "I still like you Rosie and I have been thinking about you all school holidays." Said Max after he finally caught that well-needed breath. "I'm sorry Max but I don't like you anymore, so please leave me alone and go home." Said Rosie in an upset voice.

Max finally stopped following Rosie and when she got home she went straight to her room and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

The next day while Rosie was getting ready for school her mum came into her room to tell her about a Camel Race that was on that weekend and that she could invite a friend to go with them and stay tonight after.

Rosie was so excited and couldn't wait to get to school and ask Mia if she wanted to go with them. Rosie would ask Cain but she already knew that she was busy that weekend.

~The Next Day~

It was finally the weekend and Rosie and Mia had just arrived at the Camel Races and were walking around when they bumped into someone who goes to their school named Dallas. He is in some of Rosie's classes but she doesn't talk to him.

They said hello to Dallas and headed back to where they were sitting and to the girl's surprise, Dallas was sitting right next to them. The whole time they were at the Camel Races Mia was talking to Dallas.

Rosie sensed that Dallas didn't really want to talk to Mia so she would occasionally call her back to their blanket to give him a well-needed break before Mia went back and chewed his ear off some more.

The girls were having so much fun until Rosie's mum told them it was time to leave. Rosie and Mia said goodbye to Dallas and his siblings and headed home.

On the way home all Mia could talk about was how she thinks Rosie likes Dallas even though she kept saying she doesn't like him.

The next day after Mia went home all Rosie could think about was what Mia kept saying about how every time Dallas looked or even spoke to her she would go red in the face. And how every time she was standing next to Dallas and they touched she would giggle.

When Rosie got to school on Monday she headed straight to Cain and Mia. Not realizing that the way she always walks to the girls goes straight past Dallas. As Rosie was walking past Dallas and his group he slowly lifted his head to look Rosie in the eyes which made her almost trip on her own feet.

Once she got to the girl's Mia had a huge grin on her face because she saw everything that happened. Rosie started laughing and shaking her head as she sat down. The next words that came out of Mia's mouth made Rosie go light-headed and her heart race quicker.

"Dallas invited you and me to sit with him and his friends at recess and lunch today to play Minecraft in the library." Said Mia standing in front of Rosie with a massive smile on her face waiting for her to respond.

All Rosie could say was "Ummm." Mia just laughed and said, "I'll take that as a yes. I'll go and tell Dallas then." So Mia walked over to Dallas and told him that Rosie said yes. Dallas looked really happy and had a huge smile on his face.

At recess, Rosie met Mia out the front of the recourse center to go in and meet Dallas and his friends. When they walked in Dallas called them over to where he was sitting and introduced them to his friends who are in year 10 and his Best friend Levi who is in all of Rosie's classes but she never talks to him.

At first, none of them said anything. Instead, they just looked at Rosie with huge smirks on their faces, nudging and winking at Dallas. Rosie went to sit down next to Levi but Mia pushed her out of the way and stole the spot.

Rosie looks around and realizes that the only seat left is next to Dallas and starts to blush as she slides in next to him. All of the guys start laughing and whistling. Rosie looks around confused at what the guys are whistling at and after a while, she realizes that they are whistling at her and Dallas. She wonders why they are making a big scene.

Finally, it was the end of recess and Rosie started heading off to class only to realize that she had a class with Dallas next so they were heading in the same direction. During class, Rosie kept looking at Dallas and he kept looking back at her but whenever they made eye contact they would both look away and start blushing.

At lunch, Mia didn't sit with the guys because she didn't like them and they weren't being nice to her but Rosie stayed and was actually having a lot of fun and getting to know Dallas better.

Lunch was just like recess Rosie ended up sitting next to Dallas and the guys kept whistling and laughing but this time Dallas seemed okay like he didn't mind them doing it. After a while, he senses that the guys are making Rosie feel uncomfortable and tells them to stop.

Rosie and the guys were still playing Minecraft when all of a sudden the bell went for the end of lunch. Rosie starts walking over to Cain when someone grabs her by the wrist. She quickly turns around and sees Dallas and says "Hey Dallas, is everything okay?"

"Um, I have something to ask you." Whispered Dallas. "Sure you can ask me anything, we are friends now aren't we?" Said Rosie with a worried look. "Yeah we are friends," said Dallas.
"Okay, so what is it you wanted to ask me?" Says Rosie confused. "Oh I just wanted to ask you what class we have next, that's all." Said Dallas. "We have maths last lesson." Replies Rosie. "Okay see you there." And Dallas went to class.
