The sunlight shot out in thick rays all around the forest clearing. The sky was amazingly clear and so very blue.
It was a wonder the world could ever been seen as anything remotely dull and cruel. In a way, that was still what Dabi saw it as. But, maybe that wasn't the planet itself he thought was unkind? Maybe it was just the people that lived on it that made it such a miserable place to be.
There were so many sick and twisted people out there. So many killers and abusers. People who put others down and served nothing but cold hatred to others on a silver platters. It wasn't really fair for him to think of others being the problem since he was a massive part of the harm too. Afterall, he was a horrible criminal with a massive kill count and had been responsible for the suffering (and deaths) of thousands. It was a miracle he'd ever been able to win over an angel such as his partner. There was such an incredible pain– such a weight on his chest, suffocating him slowly– as he had fallen so helplessly for the wrong person. Not only had it lain there from his sins, but the guilt of caring.
It was a truly unforgiving thing, love. Just when he had truly thought of moving on with life without any sort of care or joy in his life, in had swooped his angel, sweeping away the clouds of misery from his life with a single flap of those beautiful wings.
Life was worth it again after so many years al because of a single, crazy bird man.A breeze blew by, ruffling Dabi's platinum hair, sucking him back to reality.
It'd been three years. Three beautiful and emotional years with his beloved. Yes, it'd been a mess and there had been so many hardships along the way, but now he was here and he was ready to face his partner for the last time as his boyfriend.
It'd been a long run in the making, but he was finally going to end Keigo Takami like he'd always dreamt! Well, maybe a little differently then he'd originally thought, but good enough.
Gosh, it was a wonder he could even stand still and wait! His poor heart was racing so fast in his chest that it made his lungs ache and his ribs sore. That was bound to happen considering the circumstances though.
The cake was ready on a far table in the grass under one of the many cherry blossoms that ringed the clearing, the chairs were set up and filled with pictures of the people who they both hated, and the archway was up and decorated with hundreds of beautiful lavender flowers. The only thing missing was Keigo. So where was he?Perhaps he had decided he didn't want to spend his forever with Touya afterall. Perhaps he had realized there was no point in showing up to a meaningless and empty wedding. They had no guests– not even an officiater there to seal the deal!
But, he had sat by Keigo while he filled out the online form to get that stupid license, so if that bastard didn't show up and make it happen, Touya really would be killing him. Not literally.
Maybe.Just when he was about to leave, who appeared in the treeline? None other than the most gorgeous man ever to walk the earth. His blond hair was swept back in its usual messy style, though it was clear there was at least a little thought put into making it look okay. His white suit was trimmed with black, just as Dabi's was. While Touya has a yellow rose peeping out his pocket, Keigo had a blue one.
They were both perfectly well aware of how cheesy it was to have flowers that matched each other's eyes, but they had agreed on it, so they clearly couldn't roast each other over it without roasting themselves in the process. His heart crumpled into a million piece at the sight. How was it possible for one man to be so stellar, so stunning, yet still so meek in his approach?
Every inch closer the hero got made the villain's heart race so much more.
His stomach balled into knots, threatening to empty its contents everywhere. He swallowed hard, pushing his hands into his pockets in hopes of ending their shaking fit.
He was about to complete the biggest step in keeping his partner as his own forever..
Was.. was he really ready..?
