Day 24 - Midday
-This isn't right. What's taking them so long?
The Doctor was standing in the main delivery area of the landship. The landship had been receiving all sorts of materials and goodies for a while, yet due to Kalt'sit's excellent management skills, pretty much everything was dealt with in a matter of hours. Yet here he stood, as what he was expecting had left him hanging.
- Doctor, the couriers may have encountered some sort of issue, but you said that they wouldn't be here until later. It will be fine.
- I know. But still, they should have gotten here by now...
Besides him was the ever elusive Draco of Rhodes Island, Reed, who had endured the suffocating atmosphere of cargo transportation with people coming and going into the gigantic metal box that was the room they were in.
As the hours flew by, the duo had sat idly and conversed to relax. The few benches that were stationed around the area were surprisingly comfortable and served to make it look less of a repurposed, oversized pet cage, though they were relegated mostly to enduring the weight of boxes that transporters didn't want to bother with at any point. Most of the time was spent with Reed explaining to The Doctor anything he might have needed to know about Victoria, per his request.
- Would you mind telling me about this place a bit further? I think I know what is important, but I feel like hearing it from you would make me feel more secure about it.
- Hm... if that is your wish- Was all his companion had said. The Doctor didn't mean to pry about her past; never, he just felt that she was someone that perhaps knew details about the country that only its citizens would be aware of.
In general, all had been going fine and well, but the deadline for the package The Doctor had ordered was arriving, and logistics were nowhere to be seen. There was nobody else in the bay, and only a few forgotten cardboard boxes remained scattered on the ground with no particular order, left behind to be hastily reclaimed later.
- Mountain Dash Logistics is very reliable, and I asked Bison to make some arrangements to get a qualified messenger to make a trip to Rhodes Island as early as he could.
- You contacted MDL? I imagined you would have asked Penguins Logistics to assist you, since you seem to get along with them pretty well.
- That's true, but as surprisingly efficient they can be, they are a shaky bunch. One day they might bring you everything way too early, and other times they'll get in a brawl half-way through their trip and delay the delivery by a day. They get the job done, but Bison's group is more reliable and honestly that's all I care about.
Speaking of the devil...
- Hey, Doctor!
- Would you look at that. Sorry to rush you, but do you know about my package? We talked about it the other day, and someone should have arrived by now.
- About that... I was just going to say, there's been a problem.
- WHAT? What happened!?!
Bison took a step back. Just a few minutes ago he had been called by the messenger he had secured for well, whatever The Doctor needed. He respected him greatly, therefore it was a shock to see him react like that.
- My apologies for startling you, but please tell me what happened. Quickly!
- Uh. Ok. Thing is, the guy I sent to pick up your stuff just informed me that the manufacturers you commissioned kinda, don't have it. Apparently when he got to the company and asked for the cargo, their warehouses looked suspiciously devoid of the Manganese Tryhydrate you wanted, and their stock of many other rare materials was also dwindled.
