"Sir!" A loud voice called, falling in step with the fuming Percy Jackson.

"Chase, I was asleep so this better be good!" Percy threatened. He was fixing his shirt which he had thrown on in a hurry two minutes ago. The black Pegasus logo uncrumbled against the blue background of the shirt.

Officer Annabeth Chase glared at him, part of her hand flickering invisible as she talked. Her blond hair was pulled back under a Yankees baseball cap and her grey eyes matched the fabric of her shirt that owed the same Pegasus logo.

"The new recruits are in, the files are here." She said. She handed him a thick manila folder which Percy flicked open while they walked. "They just came in from the Pegasus HQ."

"Is Grover back from that assignment yet?" Percy asked flipping through the pages without actually reading.

"No, sir." Annabeth replied.

Percy sighed as they rounded a corner. Immediately the only officers there broke off their conversion and made way for the two. Percy recognized them as Clarisse La Rue, head of Pegasus training, and Selina Beauregard, head of their team of expert hackers.

They nodded an acknowledgment and continued past.

"What is this?" Percy finally asked, snapping the folding back to her.

"The Olympians."

"What?"

"Your team sir." Annabeth replied, sounding annoyed. Her entire form flickered for an instant which happened whenever she got exasperated. Percy noticed she did that a lot around him.

"Team?" Percy asked, "Chase, elaborate please."

She rolled her eyes, and opened the folder again, pulling out a picture. A middle picture of a kid probably graduating out of eighth grade. He had curly brown hair, with elvish features, and a mischievous smile that made Percy apprehensive.

"Leo Valdez." Annabeth stated, "Mechanic. And a pretty freaking good one at that. A pryonectic, apparently had a bad run in with the Monsters and burned down his mom's car shop with her still inside. He was on the run until two days ago and currently in the storage hold."

She pulled out another picture. A girl with choppy uneven hair. It was a mugshot, which was extremely usually. She was grinning like she was having a blast.

"Piper McLean." Annabeth stated again, "Daughter of the late Tristan McLean. Her dad died under mysterious circumstances. So far she's exhibited an enhanced power, that she dubbed Charmspeak. She talked herself out of fifteen bank robberies and four jail cells."

"Drew can already do that."

"The guards were wearing Alaskan Earmuffs. Those ones that make it impossible to hear anything."

"Oh."

"She's currently sedated in the storage hold with Valdez." Annabeth pulled out another picture. A thick burly kid with a hint of Chinese features wearing a sweatshirt with the Canadian flag.

"Frank Zhang, Shapeshifter." She reported, "Currently he's been seen only as animals but very efficient. His mother died two years ago, during a gun fight at a local mall, on her holidays home from the military. He still hasn't seemed to get over that. Also you should know it took four darts to sedate him."

Percy raised an eyebrow. "Four?"

Annabeth nodded, "Four."

"Next is, Hazel Levesque." The girl had dazzling golden eyes, but the picture had to be many years old. The girl was like ten but she was laughing at a joke or something someone nearby had said. "The pictures have been out of circulation. She's actually fourteen now. Until recently, she was on her deathbed with a fatal disease, the same one that took her mother. But she suddenly got better after four years in the hospital, overnight it seems. A human metal detector. Or a female Magneto. Take your pick. And..."

Percy glanced at Annabeth during her hesitation. "Yes?"

"She claims to have connections to Nico Di Angelo."

Percy was shocked though he tried not to show it. "Does she know where he is?"

"Wouldn't say. Just that she knew what happened to him and Bianca after they dropped off the radar months ago without warning."

Percy let his hopes dropped.

"Is that the entire team?"

"Plus you and me, yeah." Annabeth said, to which Percy stopped entirely.

"What?"

"HQ wants us on this. They named the team, Olympians because our powers fall in line with the original Greek Gods. Plus these guys are going to need a lot of guidance."

Percy shook his head. "I can't-"

"Yeah, you can," Annabeth cut in, "I've seen you."

They stood inches from each other. The corridor was empty, which was normal. She glared at him as if saying him to say otherwise. Her eyes flickered downwards for a second looking at Percy lips.

"No one's around." Percy said.

"I know."

Then she slammed her lips on his. Percy never got tired of the feel of her lips. He melted into her. Wrapping his arms around her holding her in a way HQ would definitely disapprove of. He waited for this. He waited to love her.

He didn't know how much longer they could keep a secret. He never wanted to let go. But Annabeth pulled away, out of breath. She looked at him, a small smile tugging on her lips.

"I know, Sir." She whispered.

Percy smiled back. He knew when she said that, she really ment "I love you." He swore he would go through Hell and back for her. He hated being official, but he hated the idea of being split from her by HQ even more.

No connections, inside or out. That was the motto when it came to relationships. Annabeth turned away putting her folder again.

"And this fellow is Jason." The grey eyed girl handed him another picture. He had blond hair and a scar on his lip, with a definite glint in his sky blue eyes. But he transparent.

"Another part of the team?"

"Not quite." Annabeth said, "He's air spirit. Possess people in order to stay alive. And has control over air and wind and lightning. He's been on the run. The monsters have made him a number one priority."

"Why?"

"Exactly. HQ wants to know. He's our first mission." Annabeth looked at him. "And it starts now."
