chapter one

The bell rings for first period at blankly high Amelia and Amy were sitting in the court yard waiting for their friends. When their friends got there amy had something to tell everyone. She was about to say it when Brittney the school bully said "hey idiots, are u ready for three months in the old abandoned school." Amelia looked at her friends and a look of confusion passed over everyone's faces. "What was she talking about" thought Amelia then amy looked at her and knew right away that Amy had opened her big mouth again. So Amy looks at Amelia with a innocent look then looked down and began " Brittney said we wouldn't last one night in the old school so I said we could and it got out of hand, so now we all have to stay for three months there." Amelia knew by looking at her friend that she didn't mean to do it, but from what we heard about that old haunted place that the worst was just around the bend. They all went through a full day of classes and headed home to pack for the horrible trip that they had to go on. They all met at the local McDonald's to have a nice meal before having to go in there. Amelia looked at the people around her and said " just know guys that its only a old school it will be fine." But she knew better than that she had hears all the stories about that place how when someone went in there they didn't come out the same way. They all finished their meal and started walking to the old Buckly high school not knowing what to expect.

        Amelia slowly opened the old beaten up door and took out her flashlight and stepped it " wow this place is a dump" she laughed trying to ease the tension letting the others pass her. Newt was the last line in and looked around seeing something run across the hall in front of him and screamed "did u guys see that something just moved in the darkness" cherole laughed at him "stop being such a pussy" everyone laughed at the statement that was just made by cherole not knowing that their greatest fears reside here in the darkness of the abandoned school. As the group of teenagers were basking to find a safe place to set up a home for the three month that they were there, they didn't realize that something evil was watching them intently. Newt was roaming the halls of the old high school and stumbled across an old newspaper from 1986 he looked at it with a puzzled look upon his face. When newt picked it up he saw the tittle "tradity striks buckly high school!" He was puzzled what could have been that bad to shut the school down and abandon it? Then he started reading the paper closely it said "the buckly high school had a terrible accident to day with 14 students. They thought it would be "cool" to go down to the basement but when they did so they never came back, so the principle called the police to find them. But when they went down to find the students all they found were dead bodies." Newt gasped and ran to get his group of friends but when doing so he tripped and cut his leg wide open on some metal sticking up from the floor boards.

      Chelsea heard her boyfriends cry for help so she yelled at the others to come with her. When they all got there their friend was lying there with his leg cut open with a piece of paper in his shaking hands. Chelsea ran over to him trying to stop the bleeding she tore her shirt and tied the fabric around newt's leg making him Flench away from her,meanwhile the rest of the teenagers were reading the paper with looks of horror on their faces. They had never known about this their parents never said anything to them when they told them they were staying there it was quite weird considering Amelia's grandfather was the principle so many years ago. How could they not tell us not this tragedy that happened here? All these questions run through Amelia's head trying to process what is going to happen. Luke suggest that they should go check the basement out Amelia tries to stop them but can't so she tags along too make sure no one else gets hurt. When everyone gets down to the basement door they find it wide open and blood trail leading into it Aurora looks fascinated by what she is seeing here. Aurora suggest we look in there everybody just shales their head in disapproval at her. When they finally get back to the big room that they made their own it was classroom 143 where the students that died that day always hung out. As it was getting dark they all sat in a circle and were eating and telling stories about their childhood or just scary stories in general. Amelia sat there in silence trying to process this whole event and why her mother or grandfather never told her about. She kept looking at the old newspaper trying to connect everything then it hit her the students didn't go down their on purpose someone dared them to go down their and being teenagers they let their pride get the best of them and went down there.

         Amelia gasped she knew something sounded familiar to her she remembered her grandfather telling her an old scary story about the monster in the darkness. He told her that the story was about the darkness making you face your known fears that's why she was so scared of the dark when she was little. The monster in the darkness waits until you get lured into a dark place and then makes you face the biggest fears that you ever had slowly taking your life away or your sanity while he watches and waits for his meal. Rory sees his friends face go as pale as a white sheet and walks over to her asking " hey what's wrong Amelia it looks like you've seen a ghost" she looks at him and laughs "I remembered that my grandfather did tell me about this when I was younger but he didn't tell me it was true I thought he was just trying to scare me" Rory looks at her and he knew that she was scared out of her mind but didn't know what to do. They had no idea what was fixing to happen when they woke up the next morning.
