Water... I... Am I drowning?
No... Wait... It's soft... And warm... It feels... Nice...
A boy walks into view, his back turned. He says nothing. His shoulder length black hair sways gently in the current of the water, and so does his loose, traditional clothes.
Why...
A shy, soft voice cuts through the silence. Sadness and pain echo within it, as well as regret.
Why...
The voice becomes angrier, harsher, and filled with hate.
Why did you leave me.
The current of the water suddenly whips into a whirlpool as the boy turns, except now there wasn't a boy. The rage filled face of a silver and blue dragon hisses and snarls, baring its fangs as the world goes dark.
Chihiro shot up in her bed, entangling herself in her sheets. She screamed for a moment, afraid that it was the dragon, strangling her , but stopped as she realized they were only sheets.
Her pupils were still dialated with fear, and sweat dampened her forehead, making her long brown locks of hair stick to her skin. She hadn't dreamed of that boy in years... It had been so long... Her lips parted as she began to cry, burrowing her face in her covers. In between her sobbing gasps, she asked to the empty night air,
"Haku... Why?"
