Nadia’s POV
I inched out from behind the rock to see if she was still there, still unable to believe that she came back in the first place.
As she walked off, I saw her feet moving against the sand. She was getting further and further by the second.
What if she never comes back? I asked myself. No, I have to meet her. Even if it’s only once.
“Hello!” I called out to her.
She turned around, surprise showing in her sparkling eyes.
For a moment she stood still, but then her feet started to move back in my direction.
When she got close to the rock I was behind, she asked,
“It’s you, isn’t it?”
I stared blankly at her.
“The one who saved me from drowning yesterday.”
I smiled and nodded at this, getting a grin from her in response.
Her smile…is gorgeous! I thought, feeling my face get slightly warm.
“How…is your head...alright?” I asked awkwardly.
She pressed her non-webbed hand against her forehead.
“It still hurts, but I’ll live,” she kneeled down in front of me. “Thanks to you.”
