Ryujin's P.O.V

"You hate this place, don't you? Then, why are you here?" Yuna crossed her arms across her chest, tapping her foot in a cynical manner.

"How about you, Yuna? Why are you with Chaeryeong at this infamous make out spot?" I retaliated, making the duo avert their eyes to the floor in embarrassment.

"I think they came here to make out," Yeji deadpanned with a poker face, eliciting fake coughs from the girls. "Chaeryeong's lipstick is smeared and Yuna-"

"You do know that your navel is exposed, don't you?" Chaeryeong mocked, pointing her index finger at Yeji's belly, so I had to use my fast reflexes to tug my girlfriend's shirt down and cover her navel. "And Ryujin, your shirt's unbuttoned, by the way." Without wasting a millisecond, Yeji's hands shot out toward me to button my shirt back clumsily, thus inserting some buttons into wrong holes.

"Eh? What's that on your neck Yeji? Teeth marks?" Yuna jeered at my girl, making my blood boil, while Yeji looks like she wants the ground to swallow her. Hence, I chose to attack Chaeryeong since I know that it might push Yuna's buttons.

"Hmm... Ryeongchae, I've noticed you wearing turtlenecks and hoodies over your uniform. Are you hiding... hickeys or something?" I countered, and Yuna gnashed her teeth viciously at me. Nevertheless, I just smirked in victory for receiving an intended reaction from her.

"You little dwarf!" She insulted me.

"Hey! Don't call my gir- uh- best friend a dwarf! Her height's average," Yeji rebuked Yuna, and she swung an arm around me, pulling me toward her. Then, she placed an elbow above my head, which wasn't helping her statement after all. Great job, Yeji! Great job!

"Best friend, huh? Do best friends make out, Chaeryeong-ie? Lmao. Look at them! They look like they just went through a very heated session," Yuna sniggered, earning a nod of agreement from Chaeryeong.

"Look at the amount of sweat they produced," Chaeryeong joined in, laughing at us offensively.

Soon, a verbal quarrel broke out between us, accompanied with bombartments of mockery, offense and call outs in the air. Out of blue, I felt a throbbing pain at the side of my head, and the world spun around me, so I blinked a couple of times to clear my vision, stumbling backward helplessly. As if it wasn't bad enough, I couldn't focus on their words anymore due to the ringing in my ears that muffled their voices out.

"Y-yeji-yah," I murmured weakly, trying to reach over to her, but I kept missing her hand since my vision doubled, and I'm seeing two images of her. "Ye-" I couldn't feel the ground underneath me anymore, and it was like being swallowed by quicksand. Then, I lost my footing and almost plummeted down to the floor, not until Yeji caught me in her arms with dilated eyes, gleaming with sheer shock and panic in them.

Yeji's P.O.V

After Nurse Nayeon readjusted Ryujin's bandage, she flashed some light onto her pupils and examined, clicking her tongue with disappointment, whereas the patient fragilely leaned on the backrest of the hospital bed, looking as if she was holding on to her consciousness. Next, the nurse pressed the stethoscope to Ryujin's left chest, listening to her heartbeats.

"Her concussion hasn't healed yet," the nurse reported, locking my gaze with skepticism and accusations, "Excess physical activity and an increased heart rate worsened her symptoms, dragging out her recovery. Yeji-yah, you shouldn't have done anything to your friend. You clearly knew that she had a head wound." My eyes bulged to the size of saucers and I gulped, fidgeting my trembling hands with guilt.
