I let the guy get up, wondering what it was he had to say. He leaned against a wall panting for breath as he spoke.

Charles: I know this looks bad. But I'm not who you think I am. I'm not from the government.

Hannah: What do you mean? Isn't that why you captured my mother?

Charles: That was only to get the robot. It's...

His face turned cold as he turned to who the robot was.

Charles: It's dangerous. Let's just say, your father isn't dead. And he also isn't that....thing.

Hannah: Well then what is the robot?

Charles: It's a self destruction bot of some kind. It was designed to be skilled in combat. However, at the press of a button, that thing could destroy the entire station.

I stared at him in shock, unable to believe the clan was holding a possibly station destroying robot. My instincts kicked in and I gripped tightly on the taser.

Hannah: Where...where is this remote?

Charles: I have it. I left the government because of what they did to you. Alice has been hunting down me and the others.

Hannah: Others? What others?

He was about to open his mouth to speak when, from a corner, we heard figures running. A few toppats came around, firing in our direction. I backed away, avoiding the gunfire, only to fall back into an escape pod. The guy ran in, unable to see me due to his hood, and pressed the eject button on the pod.

Hannah: Wait!

I jumped up too late, as the pod was launched. He sat in the seat, dumbfounded that I had been caught in the pod. I ran to the window, hitting the glass repeatedly as the station grew smaller and smaller.

Hannah: NOOOOOO!! No no no! I can't....I can't...

I collapsed to the ground, hopeless and sobbing, as I watched the place i knew as home slipping away from my sight. I felt a cloak being wrapped around me as I saw the last glimpses of my home.

Charles: I'm...so sorry.

Hannah: I...I...I'm an idio-

I felt him grab on my shoulders and, in that moment, I cried into his shoulder.

Charles: There, there. Easy now.

I cried for what felt like hours. My sense of time was gone as I had no clue where i would go. Eventually, I passed out from the exhaustion.

.....

I woke up, blinded by the sunlight. I found myself in a bed, under some heavy green and yellow blankets. It took a while for my eyes to get adjusted to the light. Looking around, I saw the walls were made of some kind of brown concrete with a blue pattern. There was a tube coming out of my arm and going into a machine. There was a desk nearby with a few folders and a plate of plastic fruits.

Suddenly, the door opened up and boy, about my age, walked in. He had blue eyes and sandy hair with red stripes. His skin appeared to be pale and he was wearing some kind of military doctor's outfit. He was holding in one hand, a bottle of pills and, in the other, a plate of small, colourful pastries.

???: Hello. You've been out for as long as a dog's life. Ripe old mess was ye, bruised, red eyed and whatnot.

He put the plate down and reached out a hand for me to shake which I did.

Daniel: Name's Daniel. Daniel Calvin. Call me Dan for short.

Hannah: Well...uhhh nice to meet you Dan. I'm.. I'm Hannah.

Dan: Nice to meet you Hannah. Anyways, you'll need to take these.

He passed the bottle. I opened it and found a few green pills inside. He passed a glass of water from the nearby desk and I drank down 2 pills. Immediatly, I felt an intense bitter sensation in my throat. It was as if I had swallowed a stinging nestle.

Dan: Aye. You alright?

Hannah: Yeah. Just really bad taste.

Dan: Oh yeah, it does that. I've gotten used to it. Anyways, want a pastry?

Hannah: Oh okay. Pass one over.

He grabbed the plate and sat on the end of the bed. The plate was placed in front of me and I grabbed one. He already had one in his hand and appeared to be enjoying it. I took a bite of the crumbling yellow thing. My mouth was lit up with sweetness and savouriness.

Hannah: What's in these?

Daniel: I'm pretty sure there's carrots and...

He broke apart one of the pastries, revealing an orange looking filling with something white beneath.

Daniel: ...packed fish.

Hannah: Say, where am I anyway?

Dan went over to the table nearby and got the files. He came back, and passed me a few papers. I scanned through, reading thoroughly.
