Chapter 1: Ms. Gonzalez

I stood outside in the hallway, prepping myself to see the shit holes in my class. " okay fine ass, you can do this. Just 2 more months, you got this! I believe in you"

The bell rang and I walked in. In the front was Isabela and her musketeer 1 and 2.  I call them that because I don't have time to learn their names. next to them was Joshua and 'the boyzz
🥶😈🤡'. Wait we're still in middle school? My bad, I thought we were seniors in high school about to graduate. I turned my head to see Cassidy trying  to get Joshua's attention. "Cassie bestie, you're honestly embarrassing yourself" I told her.  "Damn mami, you soo fine" Joshua said smirking. Bestie, that's creepy creepy. "Was that supposed to be hot?" I asked him.  " you ask them bestie."  I turned my head around to see Roni smiling at me with her arms open. "OMG GIRLY" I hugged her and we danced around like monkeys.  "damn bestie you looking  smexy asf" she smirked." see Jason, that's how you do it"
" It's Joshua."  

" does she look like she gives a fuck?" Roni asked.
" TELL  EM MAMACITA"  I yelled.
The second bell rang and Mr. Smith walked in. He was bald at the top and had hair on his sides. He was a bit on the chubby side and always wore tees that outlined his pot belly, with a track suit bottom and those pastor shoes with the curvy fronts.  Yeah,I know.
"Good morning class. As you all know finals are coming up very soon" the  whole class frowned. I really didn't give a shit. I honestly think school is a waste of time,money and attention. Like when the fuck will I need to know about probability in the real world, or even geometry. Plus calculators exist. Google translate exist, majority speak English SO?

"Hey" Roni tapped on my shoulder from the side, drifting me away from my thoughts. "Hey" I responded. " what are you thinking about?" she whispered. She always knew when I was thinking about something or when I wasn't paying attention.

Roni and I have been best friends since we were babies. My mum and her dad are enemies in the Mafia but it wasn't always like that. They used to be childhood best friends but i guess after the grew up and got married they drifted apart. Roni and I always did everything together, we even train to fight together. She knew all my secrets and how I thought. She was the only who understood my trauma. She was the only one who knew about what happened to me when I was 14 apart from my dad.  Plus, she was fine as hell.

She was 5'7 and had dark  colored hair with  brown highlights at the ends. She had Dark brown almost black eyes and a chocolate skin tone. She was Afro-Latina.

"Just about how useless this piece of shit we call school is" I responded. The whole class turned to me. " opps, did I say that out loud?"
"Watch your Language young lady"
" yo No soy una jovencita" ( I am not a young lady) 
" negro" I heard Roni whisper. We both snickered.

" would You like to explain to the principal what's so funny?"
" oh dios mio, what did I even do? Is it a crime to laugh?"
" to the principals office, Now!" He slammed the hall pass on my desk. I got up and took my bag. " tu casa o mi casa" (your house or my house?) Roni asked me. " tu casa doce del mediodía?" ( your house 12:00?)
" ok nos venos entonces, te amo" (ok see you then, I love you)
" te amo." ( I love you)I blew her a kiss in the air and she caught it. I then walked out.

On my way to the principals office I saw the chemistry lab. I entered inside and lit my customized Roni cigarettes( they literally had ronni's face printed on them).I took a few puffs and heard someone coming so I quickly threw it in the bin, forgetting to turn it off. I quickly walked out and greeted Mr. Pervinson before heading towards the principals office. I knocked.

"Ms. Gonzalez,Please come in." Headmaster Charleston said. "I am here, what do you want?"
"You do not talk to me like that young lady" What did I even say that was offensive OMG. "what is with teachers and principals and using 'young lady' so damn much?" I asked. " I am tired of your insults Ms. Gonzalez". Wtf? "Insults?" I inquired.
"Yes,Insults. This is the 4th time this week I have gotten a complaint against you and your behavior in this school." Wait does the dude think I give a shit?.
" oh dios mio! Estas perdiendo mi tiempo"
( oh my God! You are wasting my time)
" you know I don't understand what you just said" he said.
" that's the whole point."

Then, the fire alarm went off. I didn't think anything of it because there's always false alarms happening. Then, I heard people screaming "fire fire" from the hallway.
I quickly rushed out or Mr. Charleston's office and run to my classroom to look for Roni. But she was already outside so that's where I went.
After 10 minutes the fire department showed up and rushed inside whilst we all stood outside and watched.
" I think I may have caused the fire" I whispered to Roni.
" WHAT?" She yelled, catching the attention of everyone. "What do you mean?" She lowered her voice. " I was smoking in the chem lab when I heard someone coming so I threw the cigarette away forgetting to turn it out."
" What the hell Martina? This is why I always tell you not to smoke in school but you never listen, now look. You know you can get expelled if you're caught?"
" I know"
" so now what" she asked me.
" I don't know"

A few minutes later I heard Headmaster Charleston call my name from the back. I turned to see him standing next to Mr pervinson and one of the firemen.
He signaled me to come. I looked at Roni and said " wish me luck" while  taking a deep breath.
"Good luck" I heard her say as  I walked to the back.

"Ms. Gonzalez, do you know why I called you here?"
" uhhh no?"
" well Mr. Johnson here says the cause of the fire was a cigarette smoke. Do you have any idea about that?"
" no I don't"
" interesting. Well Mr. Pervinson here says he saw you walk out of the chem lab right before you came to my office. And I checked with all the teachers and you were the only one with a hall pass within 20 minutes of the fire."
" Okay fine I did it but it was a mistake. You probably don't believe me anyways. So what is it, 2 weeks suspension? 1 month?"

" I'm afraid you have caused too much damage for just suspension."
" okay so what? Community service plus suspension?
" I was thinking of Expulsion"
" WHAT?" I caught everyone's attention.
" I'm afraid so"
"But why? Don't get me wrong I hate this place but still, I just have about a month and a half to leave this place."
" I'm sorry but my decision is final"
" fuck you. You can  keep your bloody school all to yourself I don't care. Suck my dick" I pointed the middle finger and walked back  to Roni.

"So?" She asked me.
" guess who just got expelled, I did."
" OMG are you okay"
" yeah I'm totally fine, totally. What am I gonna do" I asked her.
" oh baby, come here."
She hugged me while rubbing my back.
" uhh Roni  I'm not a baby"
" just shut up" we both laughed.
" we'll figure it out okay".

" okay everyone, can I get your attention please" Headmaster Charleston said.
We all faced him.
" so there's been some damage in a few classrooms and with this the school will be closed for about a month. This means your finals will be postponed to a further date."
" you know what I think" Roni asked me.
" qué" ( what?)
" I think you did us all a favor"
" exactly" we both laughed.
