While adjusting his tie with a devilish smile on his face, he walked entering Veronica's office room and greet her by saying,
"'Hereby, I've asked my management to publish this press release to inform everyone that I'm getting married soon. Wish me luck. Yours sincerely, Veronica D'Costa.'" finished Alexander as he shifted his eyes from his phone to Veronica and continued,
"Nice move, huh ? Press release telling that you're getting married but you've never stated that who's you're getting married with ? Aren't all these too obvious, Veronica ?" mocked Alexander as he sat on the chair in front of Veronica.
He's started to act like he owns the office. Veronica never liked when people like to interrupt her working hours especially for things that are not important to her. She keeps looking at Alexander with a serious face but then rolled her eyes when Alexander flaunt his charming yet evil smile.
"You are the one who want me to tell everyone that we're getting married, right ?" said Veronica.
"Yes, but don't you think that this was a bit obvious ? Especially from you because Kabir means life for you, right ? How can you easily agreed to marry me, just like that ? Is there any hidden agenda, Veronica ?" asked Alexander as he move closer towards Veronica.
"Just like you said, Kabir means life for me. I'll do anything to save my 'life'." answered Veronica, firmly. Even though, she was worried that Alexander might knew her plans, Veronica tried not to look anxious and act convincing.
"Okay, then. You're going to make a press conference to introduce me as your future husband and that too, today." ordered Alexander.
"You're crazy. I'm not going to do that. I've already publish a press release and now you want me to make a press conference ? I'm not going to do that !"
"Do you think that I'm going to believe your press release ? I'm not that stupid to fall for your games, Veronica."
"I'm not playing any game, Alexander."
"Then do as I say. Call your management and do the press conference this afternoon or you've left me with no choice, Veronica D' Costa !" said Alexander as he hit his hands on the table before he walked out from the office. Left with no choice, Veronica vent her frustrations as she forcedly close her laptop. She close her eyes and rests her head on the chair before she took her phone and dial a number.
"You're right. He want a press conference now." said Veronica.
"I'll be there and we're going to do as we planned, okay ?" said a person on the phone.
Veronica just nod before end the conversations.

The sounds of camera clicking quickly surrounds the atmosphere and all the reporters that want to know more about shocking wedding announcement rushed towards Veronica to asks more questions but her eyes sticks to a person who's standing at the exit door of the ballroom. A person who looked disappointed after heard her announcement. A person who shouldn't be there to hear the announcement. Veronica quickly excuses herself as she followed that person who walked out from the ballroom using the back exit door. She needed to jog as that person walks faster than she thought and when she managed to grab his hands, she brought him into the nearest store room. It was Kabir, her life.
"What you're doing in here ?" asked Veronica while she looked at a pair of red watery eyes right in front of her.
"I thought you love me..."
"That's...that's not the answer." said Veronica, brittled.
"I thought you love me, Veronica..."
"That's not the answer, Kabir..." said Veronica again, but this time, a drop of tear rolling down her cheeks as she looked how hurt Kabir was right in front of her.
"Do you even love me..." said Kabir, wobbled as he leaned his body against the wall.
"Just because I don't say certain things, doesn't mean I don't feel them !" said Veronica when Kabir questioned her feelings towards him.
"Then why you're doing this ?! Why we still can't tell them about us ? Why must we still doing these hide-and-seek ?"
"I need time, Kabir ! Please try to understand my situations..." cried Veronica.
"You need time ? Until when ? Until you're married to that Alexander ? Why you're hurting me like this, Veronica ?!" asked Kabir, frustrated, before Veronica quickly went to kiss him. She kissed him passionately, like her life was depended on that kiss.
At the same time, without their notice, Alexander was there watching them. He was hiding behind the door and keeps looking at Veronica and Kabir.
"Why did she kiss him ? Did she play a game with me ?" asked Alexander to himself, whispery.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Kabir...please forgive me. Please..." begged Veronica while cupped Kabir's face.
"Why you're doing this to me, Veronica ? I love you so much, you know..."
"I can't love you anymore, Kabir. Please try to understand...I have to marry him...I have to marry Alexander."
"But why ? Tell me, Veronica..."
"I've told you that I have to marry him ! Why don't you understand ?!" said Veronica as he pushed Kabir away from herself. Then, she wipes her tears and continued, "I'm going to marry him and you're going to live your life without me. Don't ever meet me again, understand ?!"
Veronica quickly walked out of the store room and left Kabir alone. Alexander who's still hiding decided to follow Veronica to make sure whether everything that happened in front of his eyes just now was real not just some new drama that Veronica planned. He followed Veronica with his car until they arrived on a beach. He saw Veronica come out from her car and vent out her feelings by shouting out loud before she knelt down on the sand. Maybe she's too weak to handle her situations, thought Alexander to himself. Then, he walked and approached Veronica.
"It just a beginning, Veronica. Make yourself used to all these frustrations, okay ?" said Alexander, standing in front of Veronica. Telling her whatever just came out from his mouth with a tone full of satisfaction, like he's winning a game.
"You're an evil, Alexander." said Veronica, looking at Alexander, wondering how can someone be so evil like him.
"Nothing personal, Veronica. I just want you to feel the frustrations. Hurting your loved one especially, Kabir, was the first steps. More interesting things will happen soon. Don't worry." smirked Alexander before he left Veronica. He felt satisfied seeing her broken and weak, after all, that what's he wanted to see. The downfall of Veronica D'Costa.
Veronica was still on her knee, crying but after a few minutes, she felt someone touched her shoulder. A touches of worried and care.
"You need to be strong, baby."
A voice that really needed by Veronica. She turned to look at the person who sat besides her, watching her with full of support to let her win the games that she's in it, the person who she never wanted to lose, never wanted to hurt not even if she had to pretend like she wanted to.
"I love you, Kabir."
"I know. I love you more. That's why we need to continue with our plans, okay ?" smiled Kabir while he wipes Veronica's tears and continued, "we really need to make James and Alexander believe that we're no longer together if we want to win this game. I don't mind if you're hurt me as long as you'll win at the end of all these. Okay, baby ?"
Kabir hugged Veronica because he knows that she really need it to make herself stronger to face everything that will happen after this.
