"Amy! Hurry up. You don't want to be late for your first day of school!" Mom hollered from the bottom of the stairs.
Sigh. My first day of high school... again.
I actually started highschool a few weeks ago, at home but then I was forced to move to a smaller town a week later. So here I am, getting ready for my second, first day of school.
"I'm coming mother." I hollered back. Oh, who am I? I'm Amy Beazley, I am 15 years old, and I am average. Well, I was surely average in my old city... kind of? Well I'm short, not midget short, but I stand proudly at 5'1. I have medium length brunette hair. Medium length, that's very unimaginative. My hair goes down to about the middle of my boobs and/or back, better picture? I have a pretty fair complexion, when my hair is it's natural color (blonde) I look slightly albino. My eyes are rather strange. Some days they're blue, other days they're green. They have brown spots in them, and one pupil is slightly larger than the other, although you may not notice unless you actually look for it.
Oh, and I like girls. In the city I came from, this was normal. I definitely wasn't the only one. I could wear my "Yes. I am Gay. Are you?" and "I like my straight girlfriend" shirts proudly, knowing I wouldn't be alone. At this new place? I have no idea. I may not even tell anybody about me until I know I'm not the only one. So for today I'm just playing it cool, rocking a pair of skinny jeans, a long sequin tanktop and a loose cardigan. I was fairly slim, or I guess you could say athletic. I work out at least 3 times a week, and I figure skate. I think my love for it could be described as troublesome.
I had twenty minutes to get to school, luckily I was only 5 minutes away. I got in the car with my mother, and sat in silence pretty much the whole way. I nervously walked into the double doors at Phoenix High, my new school.
Immediately upon entering, I noticed this school was similar to mine. Directly ahead of me was the main office. I headed there to get my schedule. There were a few guys sat on chairs in the office. They looked me up and down and whispered something to each other. I shuddered at the thought of them talking about me. I wanted to bad to tell them they had no chance whatsoever, but I had to keep it cool. Don't cause a scene on your first day. I looked away from them and to the receptionist at the counter. She looked at me over her glasses and smiled.
"Hi there," she said politely,
"Hi I'm Amy, I'm new here," I smiled back at her
"Beazley, is it?" She looked up from her computer.
"Yep! That's me. I think this is where I go to get my schedule? Is there someone I can talk to about figuring out my classes?" I fumbled over my words a little, realizing I wasn't even giving her time to respond. I could feel the guys eyes on me, one was nudging the other and pointing at me. Could they be any more obvious?
"Sure. You can go on in Mrs. Cahill's office. She'll straighten everything out for you!" She responded with another smile. I smiled back at her and went to the principal's office. It would be quite different having a girl principal.
I knocked on the door and peeked in. "Mrs. Cahill? It's Amy. Amy Beazley." I smiled at her and she smiled back.
"Yes! Hi Amy. How are you? Come in. Close the door. Sit down. We'll look over your old schedule and try to match courses!"
I handed her my schedule and she typed a few things into her computer. I looked around her office. It seemed normal, like any other principal's office. My eyes fell upon a picture of her, another woman, and a little girl. I assumed they were all sisters until I looked at it again. They looked too... close to be sisters. Could it be a family picture? Could my on principal be a lesbian? My eyes widened as she caught me looking at the picture.
"Yes. That is my wife, and that is my daughter. I do hope you don't mind." She smiled at me with a principal kind of smile, the one that looks nice, but stern at the same time.
"Mind? Of course not! I thought I would be the only lesbian." She burst out laughing at me.
"Darling, you are not alone." She smiled and handed me my new schedule. "I managed to get almost all the same classes. Our music classes are split into Voice, Drum, and Guitar. Which would you like to attend?"
I thought about it for a minute. I could play guitar, but not very well, and I had a decent singing voice. I was afraid drum would be all guys, so voice it was. "Voice please!"
"Excellent! Here's your schedule. Your first class is in room 243. It's on the second floor, which is actually this floor! Here is a map of the school too, just so you don't get confused! I hope you like it here." She beamed me a smile. I smiled back."Thanks! I think I will."
I left the room and walked out of the office. As I was leaving one of the guys whistled at me, and his friends started laughing. I came to a hault. F*ck this. I walked back and stoped dead in the doorway.
"Okay. Listen up. You might think you're all hilarious, but the joke is on you. I'm gay." Their jaws dropped slightly and their eyes shifted to each other. "Have a nice day." I smiled and walked away. I saw a few people look at me as I was walking to my first class. Oh wow, this could be an interesting year.
