Nevermore (The Poem)

Her haunting hum descended from up so high

The wind grew still

as the wind whispered a sigh.

Her heart was beating as her lips sung.

She fell from above and onto the cold covered floor, for her love

for you existed no more. She then closed

her eyes and awoke in the dark. You spoke

feeble words that lulled her to sleep. You swore to her something

that  you couldn't keep.

It was becoming harder  to recognize what was wrong,

and what was right. She lifted herself off the ground,

 And seized the night. 

Drawing back, she winced at the truth. You left her heart black, and blue.

She ignored all emotion, and pushed aside those thoughts

 She accepted the fact that you couldn't hang, and you were the one to blame for this dull pain.

She knew you were the one who closed that door. 

And the feelings that once reigned have become

Nevermore...
