Cigno Fanciulla Act I: Sinfonia Sparza
《Interlude - Feathers》

"Where Fenella meets a fourteen year old Tartaglia, whom gave her an odd nickname after realizing what her name had meant. Where she recalls of her time in Liyue with the Captains' shenanigans."

Two years have passed, and I've grown quite accustomed with Liyue's trade - its discipline of contracts and justice. Being under Capitano's wing after two years spent in the Fatui training camp at Snezhnaya, life here was less thriving in battle. Here, it was more peaceful; it was more mellow in nature. If Snezhnaya was known for its frost biting cold, Liyue was stocked up with rock formations and the warmth of it resembling a furnace.

Yet as much as I would have loved to stay in Liyue, I had to be reassigned in the next few days to Pulcinella - the Harbinger who truly paved the way for me to serve within the Fatui. Besides, today would also be the day that the newest of the Harbingers - or should I say candidate - should arrive and take my place. It would then be my duty to guide him through the ropes, just before I take my leave.

As I've heard, he was a talented young man founded by Pulcinella himself, and according to the rumors - the Rooster only ever chose those who had potential as Harbingers or at least those who had enough capacity to be utilized with maximum capacity. If I was accepted due to my strength and mentality, it would be safe to assume that the boy had to be little or of no difference compared to me.

"Oh, so this is the child Capitano had been bragging about? I don't see what of her is that great aside from her blunt manner of talking." The fifth harbinger was skeptical as he eyed me in the training camp.

He then sent a short glance to the Fatui agent by his side, who soon came after me. If this was a test, then I should do my best to pass with flying colors. My years of training had equipped me well enough to anticipate the direction of where my opponent was heading so I dodged to my left before he could stab my right side.

The Fatui agent reappeared to where I stood a few seconds ago, flashing out his daggers before charging back at me. Blocking his attack with my naginata, I spun my weapon around to drag his arms away and disarm him of his daggers. He grunted at the force that took him by surprise, which led him to summon daggers that spun around his body within a certain radius.

Using my vision, I tipped the ground with the blade of my naginata to lift me up as it coated my weapon with cryo. The Fatui agent's blades couldn't reach me in midair so I took advantage of it to utilize his blindspot and conjure icicles to pin him down the ground as I dealt a finishing blow.

As my feet touch the ground, I slashed off my naginata to shake off the blood that stained it after getting a clean cut over the Fatui agent's left arm.

I take a look at the fifth harbinger who sat in his throne, smiling widely at the sight. He clapped his hands, and said, "Well done. I guess you do live up to Capitano's description of you. How about I train you instead, and you work for me? My words are more respected and trusted compared to the buffoon calling himself Captain."

That was the offer he made years ago, and if that was what led him to take an interest in me then I could only hope that this boy would be on par with my capabilities.

"Kiddo where are you? The new kid is here!" Capitano's voice piped in, peering over through the gap of my chamber's doors ever so cautious as if he had done none wrong.
